An Inspired Chat with Caroline M Diamond of Los Angeles

Caroline M Diamond shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Caroline M, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Of course!! Not only am I professional and great at what I do, I am also very keen on making people feel at ease. I believe we end up with the greatest product when everyone is respected, joyous and meeting their creative potential. I have positive and encouraging energy that helps the space find its highest frequency.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
How long do we have hahah. I’m a multi-hyphenate creative spanning from dance to makeup to comedy to author to podcast host and everything in between. I’ve found that finding *one* singular lane of creativity leaves me unsatisfied. I love being versatile and finding joy in the creativity of LIFE. My focus currently is being a professional dancer (as always) and most recently starting my very own bite-sized podcast: So Yeah. Nothing longer than 15 minutes, great for everyone’s brain rot.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
This is a beautiful question because I would not be here without the village that made me who I am. I am extremely lucky that I have a very supportive family that believes in me even when they do not understand the full scope of what I’m trying to achieve.

I have had a mix of encouraging and demeaning teachers over the years, and everything has its purpose. My childhood dance teacher Ms. Monica will always be a pillar for me, as well as my college professor, Jason McDole. He not only was an INCREDIBLE dance professor but he saw me for all that I am and pushed me towards stand up comedy (I actually performed a 10 minute set for my final)

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear has held me back in SO MANY INSTANCES and still does! Fear of success more than fear of failure. I have adopted the mentality of “everything happens on the opposite side of fear.” I just constantly reiterate that to myself when I feel my self saboteur pop in. Follow the fear. Follow the fear. Follow the fear.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would probably say that I value humor, reliability, integrity and purpose. I believe life is so incredibly tedious that without laughter and joy, this is truly all meaningless. I would say that I am a ride or die friend and would hope that my friends give that back to me. Integrity is HUGE, I need to know your intentions are authentic. Purpose, for me, means that I know where I’m gonna go even if I’m not there yet.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m definitely doing what I was born to do. I’ve always felt it was in my birthright to perform and entertain. And I’m doing just that 🙂
