An Inspired Chat with Folasade of Mid wilshire

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Folasade. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Folasade, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I am always striving for excellence and to be better at my craft. Sometimes I can forget to look after myself and I have learned that my well being is just as important as my work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Folasade a creative from London,England. I am writer, actress, producer and performer. Occasionally I direct my projects because I believe God bestowed these great ideas upon me and I want them to be executed with precision and care. I graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a BFA in Music Theatre. I am an artistic person who never limits herself and I have learned to allow God to use me to inspire others.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents are both hardworking individuals who inspired me to go after my dreams. They invested in themselves and achieved monumental achievements that their entire family can be inspired by. Both of my parents are children of immigrants but that didn’t stop them from going after big opportunities.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I mostly grew up in schools and dance studios that were predominantly white. I would tell my younger self that she deserves to be wherever she is. God wouldn’t open a door for you if you weren’t supposed to enter that space.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely on God. All my ideas come from God and I believe he guides me to the right actions to achieve my goals !

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most at peace with my family and loved ones. I have a great support system in my life and I’m very thankful for it.
