Zachary Tutor’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Zachary Tutor. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Zachary, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I think wandering leads to a path others might want to try and follow. If you’re following a path – It means someone has already been down it. Wandering is much more exciting and leads to much better discoveries that are truly your own.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Zach Tutor, I’m an artist and curator who founded Supersonic Art way back in 2008. It’s grown to be one of the most viewed art blogs on the planet and I’m currently focusing on my own personal art journey as an artist painting Southwestern landscapes and figurative works.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It might seem like a joke, but I’m going to use it as a metaphor: A mirror saw me before I could see myself. You can’t be anyone but yourself – Best to embrace it as soon as you possibly can and strive to make yourself better each and every day.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
Yesterday. It’s never too late to cancel plans. If something new presents itself, don’t miss your chance. And don’t put yourself through something you’re truly not invested in.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
A.I. My god. What a joke and/or tragedy it will be looking back. For the love of all things, don’t put your faith in AI. Humans are the creative ones. Humans have perseverance and consciousness. Has no one learned a thing from things like 2001 or The Terminator?

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Every single day – I do what I love: Art. And I surround myself with art and artists and have spent my life loving art and creating. It never once has become uninteresting or boring. It’s an infinite universe of wonder and there is art and happiness in every little thing we’re able to experience.
