Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Powe.
Hi Rebecca, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My path really began back in 2015, when I was working as a Nutritionist for a bariatric weight loss clinic in Newport Beach. Through that work, I saw firsthand how much people wanted to improve their health but struggled with the realities of busy lives, careers, family demands, and just the confusion around what ‘healthy eating’ even means.
That’s when I started Prepped by Bec, a healthy meal delivery service. What began as prepping meals for one client quickly turned into a full business serving people from teenagers to seniors who needed convenient, portion-controlled meals. I ran that business for nearly a decade and kept it going through marriage, the birth of my two boys, and even the pandemic.
But — owning a food business was demanding. Between the rising labor and food costs and the 24/7 nature of that work, I found myself craving more flexibility — I wanted to be more present as a mom while still helping people in meaningful ways.
That’s what led me to transition into Nutrition Coaching full time. Now, I work directly with clients to help them build sustainable, practical nutrition habits that fit their lives. My background in meal prep and my own experience as an NPC bikini competitor gives me a really unique lens — I understand both the discipline required for physique goals and the realities of day-to-day family life.
It’s been a rewarding evolution — I’m still doing what I love, but now with more balance and a pace that supports my family and lifestyle.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My most recent business venture has been a pretty smooth road, but still comes with its challenges.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the vulnerability that comes when your knowledge is your craft. As a Nutrition Coach, my work and income depend on how well others receive what I give them and how they apply it in their own lives. Even when I provide the best guidance and support, so much is outside my control — clients have to execute, and life often throws obstacles their way.
That dynamic can create insecurities: Did I explain things clearly enough? Am I giving enough value? Am I helping them in the right way? It’s a unique pressure when your success depends not just on your skill, but on how others experience and act on your expertise.
There is also the general weight of entrepreneurship. Even though I’ve stepped away from running my meal prep company to have a slower pace of life, being a business owner and coach still means wearing many hats and balancing work with motherhood and family responsibilities.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Prepped by Bec / Nutrition by Bec?
I’m a Certified Nutrition Coach, and my work is all about helping busy women — especially moms — build sustainable, realistic habits that support their health goals without perfectionism or overwhelm.
I specialize in simplifying nutrition. I take the guesswork out for my clients and help them feel successful in their day-to-day lives, whether that means creating a plan for fat loss, improving energy, or learning how to fuel for fitness and strength.
What sets me apart is my real-life experience: I’ve lived both sides of this — as a former meal prep business owner and as an NPC bikini competitor, I deeply understand both the discipline it takes to achieve big body composition goals and the realities of managing family, work, and self-care.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my coaching reflects practicality, empathy, and a ‘real-world’ approach — it’s not about rigid rules, but about building systems that actually work for each individual client.
If I could leave readers with one thing about my business, it’s this: My goal is to make nutrition feel doable, not stressful. I help women feel empowered in their choices, confident in their bodies, and successful in a way that lasts
How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck! I believe in prayer, faith, and rolling with the punches.
Throughout my journey — from starting a business to pivoting careers to balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship — I’ve relied on faith to guide me and trusted that hard work and resilience matter most. When things haven’t gone as planned, I’ve learned to adapt, stay grounded, and keep showing up.
To me, it’s not about good or bad luck — it’s about leaning on faith, staying flexible, and doing the next right thing.
