Daily Inspiration: Meet Shay St.Catherine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay St.Catherine.

Hi Shay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been anything but linear, but it’s been beautifully transformative. I’m originally from Philly and moved to LA when I was just 16 with my mom to pursue acting. That chapter shaped so much of me — stepping into the unknown, trying to find my place, and navigating so many versions of myself over the last ten years. I’ve lived a few different lives in this city, been in all kinds of rooms, and faced more challenges than I can count. For a long time, I was just trying to find where I fit — how to get my foot in the door while still staying true to who I was.

Content creation was always in the back of my mind — something I admired and dabbled in, but never fully committed to. I lacked consistency, and honestly, I wasn’t ready yet. But about six months ago, everything shifted. I decided to take my life into my own hands and really start investing in myself. I’ve always been a personality — some might even call me animated — so I figured, why not create a space where I could be exactly that? A platform where I could be fully myself, share what I love, and have a creative outlet on my own terms.

Since then, my life has changed in ways I didn’t even think were possible this soon. From partnering with brands, attending exclusive events, and stepping into rooms I once only dreamed of — I’ve realized it was never about waiting for a seat at the table. I was meant to build my own. Now at 27, being in this content creation space feels like a natural evolution. It was only a matter of time. I always knew I had it in me.

The journey is still uphill, but it’s real — and it’s mine. I’ve learned how to trust myself, take risks, and bet on my own potential. And this is just the beginning.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve gone through a lot of challenges — both seen and unseen. Financial instability was a big one, especially after moving to LA so young. I came here at such a formative time in my life, still trying to figure out who I was as a person while also trying to chase a dream. That’s not easy when you’re navigating adulthood, survival, and self-discovery all at once.

I’ve also dealt with anxiety about who I’m meant to be and what my journey is supposed to look like. There were periods of self-doubt and burnout that made me question everything — whether I was on the right path, whether I was doing enough, and if I’d ever really “make it.”

But through it all, I’ve learned how to trust myself more — to slow down, realign, and remind myself that my path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. The obstacles didn’t break me; they built me. And they gave me a deeper sense of purpose in the content I now create.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a content creator who specializes in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I like to think of my content as an immersive experience—I really enjoy bringing my audience into my world and making them feel like they’re right there with me. Whether I’m sharing a styled look, attending an event, or capturing everyday moments, I always aim to keep things authentic and personal. It’s important to me that people feel a real sense of familiarity and relatability through my content—not just as a creator, but as a person.

One of the things I’m most proud of is building a platform by simply being myself. As a first-generation American, I come from a family where traditional careers like medicine, law, or engineering were the norm. I’m the first in my family to pursue a creative path, and it means so much to show that there are other valid and fulfilling ways to define success—especially when you follow your passion.

What really sets me apart is my ability to connect through storytelling. I’ve always had a way with words—since I was young, people have told me how articulate and eloquent I am. I take pride in being able to express myself clearly and intentionally, and I use that to create content that’s not only visually engaging but also emotionally resonant.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the power of belief—believing in your vision, even when it hasn’t fully materialized yet. As cliché as it might sound, mindset really does shape everything. You have to be able to see it for yourself before anyone else can. I’ve learned that once you commit and move with intention, opportunities start to meet you where you are. Shifting my perspective and trusting the process has made all the difference.
