Check Out Álex Bausá’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Álex Bausá.

Hi Álex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Barcelona with a family of writers, storytellers and cinephiles. Every meal was accompanied with a film and some popcorn. I always felt something artistic was growing inside me. But, somehow, I ended up studying engineering in college. And don´t get me wrong, it was ok, but after two years I knew this was not what I wanted out of my life. And then, the lockdown came. I finally had the space to think about my future and realize we only have one opportunity to make the most of it. In that moment my life did a complete 180. I left engineering to study theater and become an actor. I’d always wanted to pursue that dream but I was too shy to talk in front of five people, let alone hundreds. It was time to let go of my fears and start a new life on stage. Since entering the world of acting, I’ve grown in more ways than I could have possibly imagined.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The film industry is a really competitive one, and not always a fair one. It’s hard to face rejection, but it’s an important part of the journey. I’ve been able to get through difficult times by protecting myself. I’ve learned to build a strong inner confidence and to make the most of the times when I’m not shooting. I continue to train and work on myself to be prepared when the opportunities come.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Film and TV actor.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I have to mention the sunsets. I’ve been in many different cities and I can assure you that the LA sunsets are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Something else I love about LA is that despite being a big city, I feel I can have a relaxed lifestyle.

One thing I don’t like about the city is the social inequality. There are extremely wealthy areas right next to poor neighborhoods, and the divide can be pretty stark in terms of resources, housing, and opportunities.
