Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarit Saruri.
Hi Sarit, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t set out to become an interior designer — it really happened by accident. I started my design career in Corporate America as an Art Director in Web and Graphic Design, and spent years building a career in that field. I always loved interiors and was constantly redesigning and decorating my own home, but I never seriously considered it as a career path since I was already established in the digital design world.
That all changed when a close friend of mine, a talented builder, asked if I wanted to help out on a project he was working on — a 16-track home development. I started by selecting roofing materials, exterior colors, and palettes, and before long, we were collaborating on the full interior designs for all 16 homes — and even staging them.
Over the course of those first two years, I completely fell in love with interior design. It inspired me to go back to school and earn my degree in Interior Architectural Design. Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have started my career on construction sites — there’s no better place to get true hands-on experience.
Starting in the field also made me a stronger, more well-rounded designer. It taught me to think beyond aesthetics and truly consider how a design will be built, how it will function, and where potential issues might arise — all before a project even reaches the client. That foundation has been invaluable in how I approach every project today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any interior designer will tell you, this line of work is full of surprises, unknowns, and unexpected challenges. I’ve definitely had my fair share of struggles along the way — learning how to navigate difficult clients, setting firm boundaries, handling miscommunications, managing product delays, and realizing (sometimes the hard way) how easy it is to underestimate how long something will take. Every challenge has been a learning experience that’s helped me grow, both personally and professionally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in luxury residential interior design, with a focus on new construction, full home renovations, and custom kitchen and bath design. My aesthetic leans contemporary — blending clean lines, natural materials, and layered textures to create spaces that feel elevated, timeless, and livable. I’m known for designing homes that are both beautiful and highly functional, where every detail feels thoughtful and personal.
I’m proud of the foundation I built early in my career, starting with real, hands-on experience. It gave me a deeper appreciation for how important functionality is behind the beauty — and it shaped the way I approach every project today. I design spaces that are not only visually striking but are tailored to work effortlessly for the people who live in them.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with a clear, considered process. I work closely with my clients to create homes that feel authentic to them — spaces that are layered, warm, and refined, but also inviting and livable. For me, great design isn’t just about creating something beautiful; it’s about crafting a home that feels deeply personal and effortlessly elevated.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with me by reaching out through my website or Instagram. I focus on full home projects — new construction, large-scale renovations, and custom kitchen and bath design. I love collaborating with clients, builders, and architects who value thoughtful, elevated design.
Supporting my work can be as simple as sharing it — whether it’s through word-of-mouth, social media, or just following along. Every project I take on is personal, and I’m grateful for the community that continues to grow around it.
