Conversations with Julia Mya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Mya.

Hi Julia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started when I was scouted to model at 4 years old. After a few years of that, my parents decided to put me in ballet and gymnastics until I was 14 instead. I was scouted to model again at 14 and decided to pursue a modeling career. I was sent to model in New York, Paris, and Seoul, Korea. I continued to model and balance high school, I graduated in 2020 and moved to Beverly Hills at 18. Then, I was signed to Aston Models. In 2024 I received a random dm on Instagram to go on a Reality TV show I was hesitant because it was for Farmer Wants a Wife on HULU and FOX TV. I’d never been to a farm or been that far south. Thankfully, I met some amazing people filming, and I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had so far.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Looking back, I’ve had somewhat of a smooth road, in saying that, I’ve had a few heartaches along the way. When I was 15, my best friend died tragically when I was out of town modelling. This is one of the hardest moments of my life, and I’ll always have her in my heart.
The following season, I was in Paris modelling when COVID hit. Milan was shutting down, and everyone was flying to Paris. This was the sickest I’ve ever been. It was a terrifying, unprecedented time. That same year, I graduated from high school, and my 2020 graduation was cancelled, which was not every girl’s dream.

While filming the show, living in Alabama was a culture shock for me, and filming in a house with tension was definitely a new experience. Right before I left for Alabama my grandmother died, who l was very close with, l unfortunately missed her funeral to be there and not having my phone during filming made it challenging not connecting with my family. These years have been character building for sure.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I’m focused on modelling, reality TV, travelling, and working toward my Bachelor of Science Degree. This keeps me focused and very busy. I’m looking forward to a few opportunities that I can’t get into too much detail, but I’m very excited about my career moving forward. I’m also hoping to travel to Italy, Paris, and New York soon. I’m very appreciative and feel very blessed for every opportunity.

What makes you happy?
Honestly, I’m a pretty hard person to impress. I’m happiest when I’m at the gym, doing Pilates, or getting my daily Starbucks with my dog Mila. I love shopping, spending time with my friends, going to events, and travelling, going on girl’s trips. My family and I go to Maui, Hawaii, or the Cayman Islands when we want to relax. I love being by the ocean and clearing my mind.
