Hidden Gems: Meet RaNysia “Nysi” Fleming-Hooks of LA Mani-Pedi

Today we’d like to introduce you to RaNysia “Nysi” Fleming-Hooks.

Hi RaNysia “Nysi”, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started as a mobile nail tech who specialized in beautiful glitter press nails in 2018. While providing mobile services, my primary focus was to provide un-rushed and relaxing services. In effort to minimize the physical strain on my body from carrying heavy salon materials and equipment, I stumbled upon waterless pedicures. I then began to educate myself on pedicuring feet using soak-less methods. Fast forward to the year 2025, I am now an Advanced Nail Technician specializing in soak-less pedicures, using advanced medical grade techniques with luxury steam treatments. My spa pedicures are for those who are health conscious, immunocompromised, or simply enjoy clean spa treatments.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being in this industry is not for the faint-hearted, especially if you believe in providing quality nail services. What I have found to be a struggle while in this industry is that the industry is always changing and trends go as quickly as they come. As a nail professional you need to be on trend, but it is also important that you “niche down”. I have personally gone through many seasons in this industry, seasons of uncertainty, building a clientele, changing from mobile services to stationary services, and relocating. I’ve learned you must be resilient and even when you don’t feel like things are paying off, you must keep going. If I didn’t have a passion for what I am doing, I would have given up a long time ago.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
LA Mani Pedi’s mission is to provide a top-tier spa experience to clients who want to experience hygienic custom luxury pedicures without compromising their foot care needs. LA Mani Pedi was created by Nysi in 2022 to cater to those in need of extra self care. Nysi started as a mobile nail tech in 2018, she realized how much people enjoyed her pedicure services and wanted to bridge Wellness and Beauty. Now, she is the first luxury medical grade pedicure service provider in El Segundo, CA.

Known for our famous “Foot Facial”, a luxury add on steam treatment for the feet is included with the Wellness Pedicure. The medical pedicure or the Wellness Pedicure meets the needs of those who take pride in knowing that they are able to receive a quality pedicure without compromising their health. The Wellness Pedicure is a healthy option for those who may suffer from diabetes, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and other autoimmune disorders.

LA Mani Pedi provides the ultimate pedicure experience whether you have healthy or problematic feet.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me most is the ability to bridge Wellness and Aesthetics. Looking good is just as important as feeling good and truly being healthy. As I’ve learned more about Wellness, I have found that my passion is helping others become more self aware of their health and overall self. The feet can tell you so much about how a person takes care of themselves and what may be going on internally.
