Conversations with Kendall Alexandria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Alexandria.

Hi Kendall, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Kendall Alexandria, and what a journey it’s been!

I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and my passion for acting led me to the American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City. I was actually the only one in my high school to audition and get accepted, which made my college experience even more special. While my time at AMDA was invaluable, I graduated with a wealth of knowledge but still found myself uncertain about how to truly navigate the industry. I could analyze a script and embody a character, but I had no idea how to land roles, secure a talent agent, or build meaningful industry connections.

For years, I struggled. I faced rejection and learned some tough lessons. To make ends meet, I turned to corporate America and thrived in sales, but I always knew my true calling was in acting. Eventually, I began applying the strategies I’d learned in the business world to my acting career—and it worked! I signed with top boutique talent agencies, formed valuable connections, and slowly but surely, started to rise in the industry.

I booked roles on ABC’s General Hospital, Comedy Central’s Tosh.0, and a variety of independent projects that opened doors for me. Today, I’m proud to say that I’m the owner of my own production company, and we’re preparing to release our first feature film this year. It’s an exciting time, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about what’s to come.

Along the way, I also founded Actors Jumpstart University, where I’ve helped over 900 actors worldwide begin their careers, secure top-tier Hollywood representation, create high-quality short films, and step into their full potential.

Life is a journey, not a destination, and I’m grateful for every part of mine. As I continue to grow through my films, books, music, and teaching, I’m more excited than ever to help others on their path to success.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve faced countless struggles along the way, and that’s exactly why I’m so incredibly grateful for even the smallest victories today. I carry the memory of those tough times with me—they’ve shaped who I am, and I’ll never forget the lessons they taught me.

I want to clarify, though, that these struggles came in my adult life. I had a wonderful childhood, and my parents did an amazing job raising me. My story doesn’t fit the typical narrative of growing up in hardship or poverty. I didn’t come from the projects, and I never had to choose between water or milk for my cereal.

In fact, there were times I felt ashamed to share my failures with my parents because I didn’t want them to worry. I chose this path, and I knew it came with sacrifices. I accepted that if I wanted to grow, I would have to face whatever challenges came my way.

I remember a particularly difficult time when I was working overnight shifts and had to catch three buses just to get to work. On those routes, I often felt unsafe, as strange men would follow me. My car was repossessed, and I didn’t even tell my parents—because I didn’t want to add any more stress to their lives. It was one of the hardest moments I’ve ever faced, but I kept pushing through.

Through all of it, I kept my faith. All glory to God, I made it through, and those experiences only strengthened my resolve to keep moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
