Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Pulles
Hi Meghan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Meghan Pulles: A Journey from Emotion to Song
The story of Meghan Pulles is one of passion, purpose, and the pursuit of emotional connection through music. Hailing from Nashville, Meghan has carved out a unique space in the indie and folk scenes—becoming a genre-defying force with a style that seamlessly blends pastoral melodies with a sense of deep nostalgia. Her music is a testament to the belief that songs are not just heard, but felt. It’s this deep devotion to musical healing that drives her, and it’s what has helped her build such a devoted following.
Growing up in an environment where emotions were both celebrated and understood, Meghan was drawn to the idea of using music to express what words couldn’t capture. Influenced by iconic artists like Regina Spektor and Joni Mitchell, her sound effortlessly marries the rawness of folk with the sweetness of melodic pop and indie styles, creating something that feels both timeless and incredibly personal.
But where did it all begin? Meghan’s musical journey didn’t start with the idea of becoming a singer-songwriter. Like so many musicians, it started with a deep love for music, an urge to express herself, and a natural talent that she simply couldn’t ignore. It was in the small, intimate moments—playing guitar in her room, writing lyrics to make sense of her thoughts—that the seeds were planted. What followed was a collection of songs that spoke to the heart of anyone who heard them.
In 2023, Meghan’s dream became a reality with the release of her debut album ear baby, a project that she co-produced with Harper James—known for his indie band Eighty Ninety and his solo project Middle Youth. The album is an honest and vulnerable exploration of love, loss, and everything in between. It’s an album that doesn’t just tell stories but invites the listener to feel each one. With every note, Meghan creates a world that feels deeply personal, yet universally relatable.
But her journey doesn’t stop there. Meghan recently signed with Aurally Records, a partnership powered by Symphonic Distribution, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her career. And while ear baby has resonated deeply with fans and critics alike, Meghan is already hard at work on her sophomore record, set for release in 2026.
Through every step of her career, Meghan Pulles has remained grounded in one thing: the power of music to heal. As Pop Fad Blog so beautifully put it, “Meghan Pulles clearly has an amazing gift of uplifting people through her music, and if hers is the last voice I ever heard, I’d be sure I was on my way to heaven.” It’s a sentiment that perfectly encapsulates Meghan’s mission as an artist—to make music that comforts, that heals, and that makes us feel alive.
So, whether you’re hearing her songs for the first time or have been a long-time listener, one thing is clear: Meghan Pulles is just getting started. The journey is far from over, and we’re all invited to join her along the way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like every artist’s journey, mine has been anything but smooth. There have been a lot of ups and downs, moments of doubt, and instances where I wondered if I was strong enough to keep going. But with every challenge, there was also growth. The road to this point wasn’t a straight line—it was full of winding paths, detours, and hurdles that tested my resolve.
One of the biggest struggles I faced was finding the confidence to truly stand behind my music and my mission. It took time for me to embrace my voice and my message, especially when dealing with the scars of past trauma and abuse. These experiences delayed the start of my musical journey in a way, as I wasn’t always sure I had the strength to express myself fully or even to believe in my ability to share my truth with the world.
But now, with time, healing, and self-reflection, I’m in a place where I feel not only ready to share my music but compelled to do so. I have a lot to say—about my own journey, about overcoming struggles, and about the power of music to heal and connect. It hasn’t been easy, but every hardship has shaped me into the artist I am today, and I’m grateful for that growth.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer-songwriter with a deep focus on creating music that helps people heal and connect with their emotions. I specialize in crafting songs that speak to the heart, allowing listeners to feel seen, understood, and, hopefully, a little more whole. Music, to me, isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about tapping into those raw, vulnerable parts of ourselves and finding a sense of release or comfort.
What I’m known for is my ability to blend compelling melodies with lyrics that capture the full spectrum of human emotion. I put my heart into every song, weaving together personal experiences and universal feelings, so that my music can resonate with others on a deeply personal level. I think it’s the honesty in my songs that people really connect with.
In addition to my songwriting, I have an operatic background that gives me a unique edge in my vocal style. I’ve been able to seamlessly blend that operatic influence into my music, creating a sound that feels both lush and powerful. This fusion of classical technique with modern indie-folk and pop elements is something I’m really proud of. It’s not something you hear every day, and I love being able to bring that complexity to my songs while still keeping them accessible and emotionally rich.
I’m most proud of how my music has been able to touch others—whether it’s offering comfort during tough times or helping someone feel understood. That connection is everything to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about LA is the energy—the city has this unique beat that’s both vibrant and inspiring. It’s an eclectic place, full of diverse people, cultures, and sounds, and the music scene reflects that in the best way. There’s always something happening, and it’s the kind of place where you never run out of inspiration. I love how dynamic and alive it feels, especially when I’m playing music there. It’s a city that truly fosters creativity, and I always leave feeling recharged and excited about what’s to come.
As for what I like least, I’d say the traffic can be a bit overwhelming at times. It’s definitely a challenge to navigate, but honestly, the energy and the opportunities in LA make it all worth it. The hustle and bustle is part of what makes it such a special place to be, even if it means dealing with a few extra hours on the road!
