Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra O’Neal
Tierra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From a young age, I had a passion for video editing and spent countless hours elevating my skills. However, it wasn’t until after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management that I transformed that passion into my very first business. I never liked being at a job lol. I was too creative and always had bigger dreams. Initially, I launched HeavenlyErra Edits LLC., specializing in YouTube intros, video editing, and more. As I continued growing, I explored new skills beyond video editing, opening the door to bigger opportunities. One of the most transformative experiences was working in the entertainment industry as a social media coordinator and personal content creator, where I handled videography, photography, and video editing.
That experience pushed me to expand my business beyond just editing. In May 2024, I rebranded to HeavenlyErra Media LLC., broadening my services to include both video editing and content creation, along with valuable tools for those interested in learning how to edit. Now, I’m looking to take my business even further, moving towards more teaching, collaborations, and major projects that will allow me to work on a much bigger scale. I want to not only create but also help others tap into their own creativity, whether that’s through mentorship, workshops, or hands-on collaborations.
On top of all that, I recently took a leap of faith and moved to another state. It was definitely scary stepping into the unknown, but I know that growth comes from discomfort. Right now, I’m finding my way, figuring out what this new chapter looks like for me, and embracing the opportunities that come with it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to another state while trying to grow my business has been one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced. Relocating meant stepping away from the familiarity of my network, my routines, and the comfort of knowing exactly where my opportunities were coming from. I have to rebuild by establishing new connections, finding my footing in a different market, and adjusting to an entirely new environment. There’s moments of doubt, wondering if I had made the right choice, especially when things don’t seem to be moving as fast as I had hoped. On top of that, balancing the uncertainty of a new place while still trying to remain consistent in my work has been overwhelming at times. But through it all, I’ve learned that growth requires discomfort, and every challenge has pushed me to think bigger, move differently, and trust the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in video editing and content creation, working with business owners, professional service providers, artists, and other creatives who need support in bringing their vision to life. My work goes beyond just editing. I focus on storytelling, branding, and making sure the content truly connects with the client. I’m known for my creativity, and what sets me apart is my unique way of thinking, my eye for detail, and the energy I bring to every project. I don’t just see myself as an editor or content creator; I become invested in my clients’ visions as if they were my own. Their success is my success, and I take pride in helping them bring their ideas to life in a way that feels authentic and impactful. One of the things I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built through my work. Seeing my clients gain confidence in their content and watching their brands grow because of what we create together is what keeps me going. It’s more than just a job, it’s a passion, and that passion is what truly sets me apart.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The city itself is beautiful, the scenery is amazing, with great views that inspire me creatively. It’s also clean and feels safe, which makes a big difference in my daily life and overall peace of mind. Being in a place where I can focus on my work without constant distractions has been refreshing, and I love that I’m in an environment that encourages both personal and professional growth.
What I like least, though, is that I haven’t been able to find as many opportunities in the entertainment industry as I would in a bigger city like LA. While there are still ways to grow and connect, the industry presence in Orange County isn’t as strong, which means I have to work even harder to seek out the right collaborations and projects. It can be challenging at times, but I see it as a push to think outside the box and create my own opportunities rather than wait for them to come to me.
