Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Green
Hi Brandon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got into the business after becoming a single father and wanting to create a legacy for my children. I quit my job that I was making six figures at to follow my dream. Sold my condo and moved in with my mother for help with the children. I was relentless at achieving my goals while still being a very present and active father. Moved my way up from a bar-back to an operator of a $500 million dollar group & of over 16 restaurants and now I own a few. Started my own Black owned hospitality and consulting business and now I consult for our marginalized community. One of my kids is now at the university of Oregon and has his own business and my daughter is a nationally ranked gymnast with multiple full ride offers across the country and I’m only 40 years old. To God be the Glory!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it wasn’t. Being a 20 year old father and dropping out of college to provide was tough. Having kids by 2 different women was not always easy but we learned to co-parent and I had to fight my way to the top at my job learning how to operate on the go while still being able to make it to my kids school and sporting events.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an expert at guest service and hospitality. I’ve taken multiple businesses and 3x – 5x them. I give back to my community now by teaching classes and consulting business training. My proudest moment is what I am working on now. I just purchased an 80 acre farm to provide sustainable growth and farm products to our community and restaurants.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
God is your ultimate mentor. Allow him to lead you into your direction and path. Find susccesful people in your field of choice and align with those who align with you.
