Life & Work with Ernie Silva of Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ernie Silva

Hi Ernie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started as a stand up comic in my youth.

I left home around the age of 21 and I lived s rather unconventional life for a while.

I ended up in Los Angeles where I received my Master’s Degree in theater at the University of Southern California and since I have been a solo show artist. I have done my shows on NY, LA, Scotland, Amsterdam, London and Manchester.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not.

Lol

Trying to get notoriety and such as a solo show artist is the toughest thing in the world to do because you’re alone. You don’t have a cast to help, or people in powerful positions to oversee and help you with connections. My shows seem to always strike the audiences really well ..but getting the momentum together has been elusive to say the least.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My life as a stage performer is my lifeblood.

I have been performing since I was young…

The thing I am most proud of is that where my work is concerned I have gotten the same responses from people from all walks of life

My work seems to transcend age, background, race, etc.

I feel like I strike a universal chord with the things I do.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Well, I learned to use our time in solitude like that as an incubator. I really do feel like I accomplished getting a few projects done that I had been sitting on. It was odd working in such a vacuum but I have to say I did finish those creative works and I’m happy about that.
