Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started The Wax Queen in 2010. I grew from a one women show in a small room at a hair salon to a full functioning salon with 6 rooms and 5 service providers offering an array of services.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I started before the industry really blew up. I didn’t have social media it was all word of mouth or passing out flyers. There was definitely downtime. Nowadays it’s a different struggle. The industry is very saturated. I’m grateful to be an established salon with loyal clients.

The Wax Queen. I call us, a unique waxing boutique. We specialize in the Brazilian Wax promising to leave no hair left behind. From outside you wouldn’t expect this hidden gem but the salon itself is fit for a queen. The esthetic is Purple and gold filled with mirrors and chandeliers. Luck has been on my side. I have a list of loyal clients some that have been with me since I started in that little room at the hair salon and I have a fabulous team that I enjoy working with
