Hi Tina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when many of our clients lost their jobs, we saw firsthand how crucial insurance benefits became for accessing care. It became clear that to truly help everyone, we needed to accept insurance. The reality is that people across all walks of life—working class, middle class, students, and everyday individuals—need therapy. They face pressures, stressors, relationship challenges, and more. But if they can’t use their insurance, which they’re already paying high premiums for, how can they access the care they need? With private therapy costing $200 to $400 an hour, it often feels out of reach for many.
That’s why we are committed to making therapy accessible to all who need it. We began contracting with a range of insurance panels, including Medi-Cal, which allowed our group practice to expand and offer more therapists the opportunity to provide care. Today, we are a thriving group of 15 diverse therapists and growing, all dedicated to affordability, inclusivity, and offering high-quality care to individuals, couples, families, and children.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges we face daily is navigating the complexities of working with insurance companies. We put in the effort to manage these processes effectively so we can focus on what matters most—serving our clients and supporting our diverse community. Los Angeles is a true melting pot, and we are proud to provide healing and support to everyone, including BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ community, and the Latino, Middle Eastern, Iranian, and Asian communities. With a team of therapists who reflect our community’s diversity, we honor and celebrate the richness of that diversity, both within our practice and in the individuals and families we serve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a diverse team of therapists offering compassionate and inclusive care to the Los Angeles community, both in person at our Westwood office and through telehealth across California. Each therapist on our team brings a unique passion and expertise to their work, allowing us to provide specialized support for a wide range of needs.
We have therapists dedicated to working with children, helping them navigate family challenges and the complexities of divorce. Our couples therapist specializes in guiding partners through difficult relationship issues. Several EMDR-certified therapists focus on healing trauma, offering relief to those who have experienced deep emotional wounds. Our LGBTQ+ advocate provides support tailored to the needs of this community, and we have therapists skilled in hypnosis, meditation, and creative arts therapies.
As a female-led practice, we’re proud to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone. We accept most insurance plans, including Medi-Cal (with coverage for most counties, especially LA Care), making care accessible to as many people as possible. Our mission is simple: to ensure no one feels alone on their journey. We’re here to provide healing, guidance, and support for all who seek care.”
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I’ve always been a people person. I naturally gravitate toward connecting with all kinds of people and learning about diverse cultures and experiences. I genuinely love hearing people’s stories—their backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, religions, interests, and everything that shapes who they are. I remember their stories because I see each person as a whole, with all their traumas and triumphs intricately woven into their identity.
