Meet Corrine Limas of Align 22:39 Wellness Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corrine Limas

Hi Corrine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into the wellness field began in high school with my AP U.S. History and Psychology teacher, Ms. Calbi. As a teenager, I quietly navigated anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation, stemming from the abuse I experienced and witnessed at home. Ms. Calbi became a beacon of hope for me, offering support and optimism for the future. Her impact inspired my lifelong commitment to becoming that same source of encouragement for others.

During my undergraduate studies as a McNair Scholar—a program dedicated to supporting first-generation college students in their pursuit of graduate education—I experienced an environment where I felt truly valued. The program’s professors and staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome, cared for, and worthy of our place at a prestigious university. Their support, paired with thoughtfully organized events that prepared us for long-term success, left a lasting impression on me.

After completing graduate school and becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist, I noticed a recurring theme in my work. While my clients felt safe, encouraged, and supported during our sessions, many lacked external spaces where they could feel similarly valued and secure. This is especially true when working with clients that are not from affluent areas – “wellness” and spaces for community gathering are not as easily accessible for many of them. This gap in support inspired the creation of my business, Align 22:39.

Grounded in my spiritual value system of “loving my neighbor,” Align 22:39 was built to address a critical need: providing care and replenishment for the helpers of the world—the individuals with servant hearts who tirelessly give to their families, communities, schools, businesses, and places of worship. These people often find themselves at the bottom of their own priority list, left with little time or energy for self-care.

Over the past few years I have been blending my life experiences to figure out how to better the lives of the people I admire. As a therapist of wonderful cilents, I work to encourage these clients to take their breaks at work, get back to their old hobbies, and to take time to be present with loved ones. As a new mom trying to find and build her village, I see all of us in the trenches of taking care of children in a system that does not value families, children, mothers, or women. As a daughter and niece of selfless, hard-working women, I see how some of our cultural expectations have been contributing to intergenerational trauma – a cycle that needs to be broken. As a first generation college graduate and business owner, I see all the ways that BIPOC are working hard to maneuver through a system that has been shielded from us for decades. I am excited to be a part of the solution to all of these areas of growth in our society!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am thrilled to share that Align 22:39 has officially embarked on its mission to serve the helpers of our community. Like many ventures, the journey began with challenges, particularly in finding our footing and staying true to our authentic values. Initially, our business operated under a DBA name that focused on wellness but didn’t fully reflect the foundation of our faith and love for God.

Unexpectedly, someone else attempted to launch a wellness business with the same name, forcing me to make a tough decision: either issue a cease-and-desist or choose a new name. While it didn’t feel fortunate at the time, this challenge turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I decided to select a name that not only represented wellness but also embodied my spiritual faith. To make the change feel even more intentional and lasting, I transitioned from a DBA to filing for an LLC under the new name, Align 22:39.

Looking back, I truly believe this was the path God intended from the start. Since embracing this identity, the business has flourished in ways that affirm the importance of staying aligned with our values. In many ways, I see God as the true CEO of Align 22:39—I’m simply the earthly founder following His lead. The journey has also been so heartwarming, as I have been more open about my personal faith while continuing to open my services to individuals of all religious beliefs, gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and walks of life – and have been welcomed by the community as my authentic self. I see now how we don’t have to stay in our bubbles, and in fact, our mental health will flourish if we connect outside of our comfort zones. I am truly learning what the real meaning of “community” is!

We’ve been impressed with Align 22:39 Wellness Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Align 22:39 was built to address a critical need: providing care and replenishment for the helpers of the world—the individuals with servant hearts who tirelessly give to their families, communities, schools, businesses, and places of worship. These people often find themselves at the bottom of their own priority list, left with little time or energy for self-care.

At Align 22:39, we believe that the helpers (anyone with a giving heart who gives their time/energy/etc. to others) are the backbone of every community and deserve to be placed at the forefront of care. Our mission is to create spaces where they can rest, recharge, and feel deeply valued. So what we do is come to them and provide them with coping skills classes (such mindfulness or communication skills), holistic wellness experiences (such as yoga, sound baths, tai chi, healing cultural practices), a nutritious meal from a vendor in the community, all while holding space for any emotions that may come up during the wellness experience – as a licensed clinician oversees the time together. We take care of every detail for their self-care day, so that the helpers can REST.

It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to build this service, offering a much-needed reprieve for those who continually pour themselves into others. Through Align 22:39, we aim to keep positivity and connection flowing by helping the helpers feel supported and revitalized. I am incredibly proud of the community we are creating – and I would love readers to know that we are a group of people who are grounded in unconditional love and non-judgement. So if you have any apprehensions, questions, or concerns, we are always excited to address those with you and help you explore your wellness needs and the needs of your team.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
As a psychotherapist, the COVID-19 pandemic challenged me to grow both personally and professionally. It pushed me to develop greater confidence as a clinician while learning to balance authenticity with professionalism. Supporting people through such an unprecedented crisis—working with them virtually, connecting on a deep and personal level, and allowing them to see my own humanity—taught me invaluable lessons about what people truly need.

At the core, people simply want to feel safe, to be heard, and to have permission to show up as their authentic, imperfect selves. Letting go of the pretense and focusing on these essentials not only deepened my understanding of others but also transformed the way I view myself. This experience helped me embrace my imperfections, let go of taking myself too seriously, and ultimately gave me the courage to step into entrepreneurship.
