Check Out Ivan Bason’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Bason

Hi Ivan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Sophomore year of high school was the year I was set on what I wanted to do with my career, which was becoming an actor. So I auditioned for the next spring musical, which I got cast in as my first supporting lead role. Then my senior year I got my first singing role and I had to sing and act in Spanish. That same year I auditioned for 2 performing arts school, one was called UArts and the other one was AMDA (American Musical Dramatic Academy). AMDA was the only school to accept me which I am so grateful for because I don’t think the rest of the art colleges or liberal arts colleges wouldn’t have shape me into the artist I am today. AMDA gave me the experience of living in two of the best cities for entertainment business which was New York and Los Angeles. I chose Los Angeles because LA is more my speed and vibe. I feel like New York would have made everything feel rushed. So I chose to stay in Los Angeles after graduating from AMDA because Los Angeles felt like my new home. So I’ve been living in for 3 years still chasing my dreams and goals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s a little struggle. While chasing the dream, I still need to have a survival job so I can pay my bills, food, and the clothes on my body. Doing all of that I still need to focus on what’s the real reason why I am still living LA. Then I’m dealing with family and friends that keep asking me “have you been auditioning for things” or “have you booked anything” like those questions can get annoying because it takes time to book something like it doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes time for that big break to happen which I am waiting for. But, when asked those questions I feel like I’m being rushed most of the time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a full time position at Ladurée and I have a seasonal position at Tiffany and co as a sales support. Laduree is a French coffee shop but it is mostly known for there Macarons. I’ve been working there for a year and some changed. It a nice place in Beverly Hills. Tiffany and co is one of the best jobs I ever had. I feel like a true adult there and respected as a human being.
