Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Seema Choudhary.

Dr. Choudhary is a former UCI Chemistry professor and current executive director of Montessori Funtime Preschools in Irvine and Lake Forest. She is a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend and a mentor. Montessori Preschools in Irvine & Lake Forest, founder Dr. Choudhary, completed her Ph.D. and Master’s from State University of New York in Chemistry Chemical education. She developed a passion for teaching and her endeavors are a testament to her dedication towards the field of education. She is the recipient of the Mattern-Tyler Award in recognition of excellence in teaching for undergraduate pre-medical students. After the completion of her Ph.D., she joined Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida as Assistant professor in Chemistry department. Followed by a stint as a Professor at University of Indiana, Bloomington. Her next teaching assignment took her to Salem State College near Boston, Massachusetts. While teaching, she joined the research program at Harvard University where she had a great opportunity to interact with esteemed Nobel Laureates. After Boston, MA, she pursued a teaching career at University of California, Irvine. Being an educator and a mother, while she was inspired by the local Montessori preschools which her own children were attending, at the same time she saw a lot of room for improvement in what could be taught at preschool age to children. She comes from a family of educators, with her parents and siblings being educators themselves. Her pursuit of excellence in education led her to gaining further education & training in ECE (Early Childhood Education) and Montessori methodology of teaching. Montessori Funtime Preschool was founded the subsequent year out of the desire to create a better learning environment for kids at an age when they are the apex of their ability to learn. Between the ages of 2 to 5 years, children’s brains are like sponges and can soak up learning. That’s the age when their intense energy can be channeled in the right direction. Dr. Seema believes strongly in whole family’s involvement for child’s success and the fact that right environment & resources play important role in child’s development. She believes in the Whole-child-development. A very balanced curriculum with emphasis on academic skills, social interaction and appropriate behavior skills are followed at her Montessori Preschool. Montessori activity time is a pivotal part of her program and with an equal emphasis on art, sport, group time, music & movement and healthy food. Kids blossom into avid capable and avid readers and are ready to learn more before graduating to KG. She also believes in giving back to community. She has been volunteering extensively and has been a part of Irvine Global Village Festival committee. She launched a fundraiser for Nepal Earthquake victims at Soka University Performing Art Center. She also serves as President of OC India Association and OC Indian Women Family organization. She is part of GATE parent representative at Irvine unified school district. She received SABAN, South Asian Business Award Nationwide in 2016 for “The Best South Asian Academic Entrepreneur”. She is also nominated for “Women in Business Award” from Orange County Business Journal. She has two campuses of Montessori Preschools in Irvine and Lake Forest in Orange County. She lives in Irvine, CA with her family. She likes to bring people together. Feel free to contact her if she can be of any type of help.
