Meet Sade Miller of MSM LA Media in South Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sade Miller.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started by entrepreneur journey as a hair braider at 14 years old, which taught me financial skills early on. While doing hair, I gained an interest in promotions and connecting with my clients, becoming more personable as I am working with them and baiting clientele. After high school, I attended Cal State Fullerton when I began my journey as a Business major. After year two, I gained more interest in the art of communications, which led me to with my major to Communications, with emphasis in Public Relations. This was where I learned the foundation of what PR actually is and related it to what I was already doing as a hair braider. In 2015, I started my company MSM LA Media (My Success Matters), which then focused on building a clientele of those needing PR services, from media attention, write-ups, image consulting, special event planning, to arranging studio time for my artist clients. I fell in love with event production as I gained more experience through each client.

In 2016, I moved to Brooklyn, New York for a summer, that’s where I grew to love entrepreneurship even more. I did hair out there, attended events and networked with a great amount of people. Once I cam home, I got a job as a Behavioral Therapy Tech with STAR of CA agency. I did that for two years while jugging hair and PR. It became a lot for me so I had to decide to let something go. I quit my job February 2019, and now a full-time entrepreneur. I practice PR with The Purple Agency, do hair at a salon suite my business partner and I share, and transforming MSM LA Media into a film production company.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not a smooth road. I still struggle today. Insecurities come into play with it being so much competition, everyone wants to do the same thing as each other, so you have to tap into yourself as a person to know what you do differently than anyone else that makes your journey or business great. I have experienced depression and anxiety, especially because I juggle so many things, and often others don’t understand so they try to overwhelm you with their dreams and goals, and it takes away from the things you want to do. So that is something I personally had a hard time with and learning how to tell them “no” or not right now.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with MSM LA Media – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I would say I specialize in storytelling. I can talk to someone one time and can pretty much can tell their life story or give an overview of who they are on the inside. I am most known for hair braiding and PR, throwing events, and being resourceful. I’m mostly proud of my journey as a whole, everything I have done has been based on what I built years ago as a kid. Example, doing hair, I spoke working with Rastafri Braiding Hair into existence, so today I am proud to say I am a Rastafri Brand Ambassador. What sets me apart from other people s my passion and drive, I set myself to be very authentic, intentional, and I get the job done at all cost.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Plans for the future is to continue to create content as a producer but on a bigger scale. Partner with big brands to help maximize the opportunity to tell me, and my “peoples” stories. As far as hair, I plan to have a salon open in the next two years or less. I also have a new project I am working on involving production so will be announcing that soon.
