Meet Justine Swenson of JustFit Los Angeles in Eagle Rock and Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justine Swenson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Justine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Thank you so much for having me! I am excited to talk about fitness and my journey to creating JustFit Los Angeles. I was passionate about sports and exercise growing up. I grew up playing basketball, softball, volleyball and gymnastics. I loved the conditioning aspect and knew I wanted to do this long after I was done playing ball. After college, I became a Certified Fitness Trainer through American Council on Exercise and I started training clients right away at a local gym. After a couple years at the gym, I wanted to start my own business in order to train clients using my own approach and that is when I started JustFit Los Angeles.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, my experience has been pretty smooth. My biggest struggle is learning to keep up with social media. It is an ever-evolving part of the business so I am trying to hang in there. Besides that, I have been so lucky to have wonderful clients who have trained with me for a long time. I know they have the ability to continue on their own, but a handful choose to stay around for my support. (And I think they are having fun with my program!)

Please tell us about JustFit Los Angeles.
JustFIt Los Angeles is my personal fitness training company. My clientele consists primarily of weight loss clients ranging from 30 to 60 years of age, both men and women. I incorporate many different training styles into each personalized program depending on the person, their goals, and their current health. I am also a yoga teacher so I apply yoga moves during my sessions to enhance the workout. Additionally, I educate my clients on nutrition; more specifically, plant-based nutrition. I am most proud of my business after I give my clients the tools they need to reach their goals and I watch them succeed and achieve results. I think my company is different because I design each training program to each individual’s needs. Some coaches and trainers think that one specific way is the right way for every person but there is no sustainability in that way of thinking. Everyone has a preference for the activities they enjoy, so I tailor their program to create lasting results and habits.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have a wonderful memory of a family vacation we took to the Rocky Mountains where we hiked, fed chipmunks and rode bikes along the river. Other favorite memories involve playing outside with my family and neighbors, playing basketball in the driveway, throwing the softball around and jumping on the trampoline.
