Meet Jordan Passman of Score a Score

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Passman.

Jordan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today? When I started Score a Score in 2010, I set out to simplify the collaboration between producers in need of original music and the composers who create it. With nowhere else to go, directors were turning to Craigslist to find musicians and soundtracks for their projects. That void inspired a dedicated marketplace just for this community.

I started Score a Score by myself with no partners, employees or interns. My parents were sweet enough to invite me back into their home where my childhood bedroom became SAS’ first headquarters! At 23 I had relentless energy to prove my worth, with very little to lose. My most monumental realization was recognizing the power of passion and how contagious it can be. Harnessing a genuine excitement for connecting creatives with music solutions is what has propelled the business into what it has become today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? As a solo founder, I would travel to New York in the summer for example, sweating profusely as I dashed from meeting to meeting. After a pitch, I would frantically find the nearest Starbucks for free Wi-Fi and a phone charge, run the business for a few minutes and then rush to the next potential client. I couldn’t keep up. My greatest challenges came with growth. The more that I hustled, the more that I couldn’t handle, and that time of chaos before my ability to afford to hire my first employee was a real challenge. Delegation proved to be an incredible resource to help continued growth, and to save my sanity.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Score a Score – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others. As a one-stop shop for everything music, score a Score is here to help, pick, search, fix, create, solve and support creatives – while always keeping it fun.

We’re proud to have worked with the biggest brands, studios and franchises in the world, including Microsoft, Google, Coca-Cola, Taco Bell, Verizon, MasterCard, Kia, Gap, HPE, Intel, Kohl’s, Keds, Disney, Sony, Universal, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Fox, Amazon, Netflix & many more.

We are available 24/7 and email back in less than 10 minutes. We work with our top talent to crowdsource, curate, and create the best solution for you – even if it’s within the hour. We tailor all deliverables to fit your project and can revise until perfection, and we make licensing easy and hassle-free.

So, what’s next? Any big plans? Our vision is to support our artists, collaborate on more award-winning work, and reach more clients. There continues to be a rapidly rising volume of content every day, and we strive to be the most simplified music solution for all creatives.
