Today we’d like to introduce you to Israel Lliteras.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a Los Angeles native and graduate of the LA Film School. Growing up, I was always interested in art and film. I had been drawing and painting from a young age and wanted to go into art. An accident injured my hand and my future art career was cut short. I was no longer able to draw. I went into visual design and worked at several high end retail stores. I had an opportunity to get into construction and took a job. Both visual design and construction helped me understand how to build movie sets.
My skill was valuable to my parents who owned a film studio. While helping them build their sets, I became interested in film. The entire process was fascinating. I decided to go to film school. There, I found my passion for creating art on a timeless canvas. Since then, I’ve worked on several projects in a variety of rolls and departments. By experiencing firsthand, the many key roles that a production encompasses, I have a true understanding of the big picture.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggle along the way was trying to find another creative outlet after my hand injury cut my art career short. I’ve entered the film industry and it is a tough business. Hollywood has its ups and downs like any business.
