Meet Coco FlowerChild of The Flower Childeren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coco FlowerChild.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Coco. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am also known as Jamila Maua Mchawi. In a nutshell, I am an entrepreneur and erotic artist. I do acting, belly dancing, burlesque, crafting, costumes, dance, design, directing, edits, film, photography writing and slowly getting back into music.

I started with band, theatre and photography in grade school. When I graduated, I got more in burlesque and belly dancing. My early 20’s I was putting on art variety house shows, eventually I started doing Variety Shows in public as well as collaborations with other events in the communities.

My goal is to overcome my past while helping do my part in the communities any way I can.

I am an advocate for justice, safe spaces, breaking generational curses, and the power of catharism arts.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No but with each scar, I find beauty. I am a survivor of mental, physical and sexual abuse. I also battle mental illnesses from previous traumas. My art is a reflection and evaluation from past trials and triumphs.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I have multiple small business Coco FlowerChild is mainly dance, poetry, theatrical, etc.

C.F. Beaded Treasure Trove is my crafting business. From handmade jewelry, crafts and costumes. I will be dropping a lot of new projects and merchandise.

The Flower Childeren is what I like to call my artistic portal to other unique artists. We do collabs, Provide events with safe space for all walks of life, photography and filmography. Were also going to be adding more fun this year! Addition to that, I have individual themed troupes ex: My up incoming burlesque troupe “Panty Drip Droppers” is but one of many different troupes. We come together for events but it allows everyone to expand and hone in on their crafts.

I am proud of all my companies! It makes me happy to use my multi-talents as a career and help others reach their dreams!

I will be dropping my first collection book, “The Bouquet that Blossomed Through the Concrete” a collection of poems, life realizations, evaluations and surprises!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Yes! Constant changes and growth! I’m looking forward to dropping my first album later this year! I am an experimental artist inspired by many different genres and artists!

Outside of that, I am looking forward to traveling more and connecting with others.
