Hi Kimberly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am originally born and raised in New York. My goal was to work towards entering the medical field, which eventually led me to South Florida for schooling. While there, I held a job that made many introductions into the Entertainment Industry and eventually landed a celebrity assistant job for a reality star. This job would relocate me to Los Angeles in 2003. While continuing my education, I continued to work as a celebrity assistant and gain professional associations that include but not limited to Network, Studio and Music executives, Singers, Broadcasters, Athletes, and Actors. My goal was to have versatility in my experience the more the better. I was the Yes girl when opportunities arose to progress as an assistant. In 2009, I was employed as an executive assistant to Producers for Imprint Entertainment. During my time there, we completed installments for “The Twilight Saga and The Percy Jackson Franchise”. One of my additional responsibility was to assist with a roster of talent; consisting of well-known writers and actors.
Around the same period, I completed my studies and graduated from California State University-Northridge. I was preparing to embark on a medical program when in 2011, I was introduced to Mario Anastasiades (Rise International) and Matt Colman(Warner Music), my soon-to-be business partners in the launch of Next Level Entertainment Global. 2013 Next Level Entertainment Global is a full-service global management company with offices in the UK, AU, NZ, NY, and Los Angeles. I was asked to give my partners four months trying to make this concept a live vision and now it’s been eight years as of Jan 2021. This was a chance for me to advocate for the talent and utilize my relationships to pave the way in the Entertainment/Music Industry.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a woman, I found it a challenge to win over my already established relationships in a male-dominated environment. That is what forced me to showcase my tenacity and passion to succeed within the business. I also was the only female in NLE Global at the time I had a lot to prove.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Kimberly works hard to see her clients succeed in a competitive field. She is driven by the competitiveness of the industry which keeps her and her clients on top of their game. She has opportunities to work with a variety of different people from different cultures and personalities. This challenges her professionally on a daily basis. No two days are the same. She understands the sacrifices and hard work that her clients make to achieve their success within the Entertainment field. When asking Kimberly what she is most proud of she replied “I’m most proud of watching a client achieve their goals and knowing that she has contributed professionally to their goals in a positive way”. Another thing she expressed that she is also proud of is the people that she works with on a daily basis from her business partners, casting, talent agents, producers, songwriters, terrific actors, and music artists. It makes her love what she does without forgetting how she got there.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Before Hollywood, leading men and women were of Caucasian roles. Now they are shifting towards more diverse leads and adjusting to how society really is in the present time. We will see more of this shift over the next few years. The industry is full of Ebs and Flows.
