Check out Andrea Carmona’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Carmona.

Andrea, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’ve always had a passion for photography! For as long as I can remember I had a camera in my hand taking pictures of friends and family. It was truly a hobby for me, I didn’t really start to delve in deep into the education part of photography until last year. I made the jump into taking photography to the next level when I became pregnant with my daughter. I knew I wanted to pursue my passion further and I would have the time to do so during my leave from my corporate job. I named by business Andi Carr Photography, a lot of people don’t know this story so this is the perfect way to share it! My first name is Andrea and growing up I always had the nickname of Dre but my mom wanted my nickname to be Andi. She thought it was such a cute nickname and I always said no lol. My mom is a huge inspiration to me so granted, when I started searching for the perfect business name for myself I thought why not use Andi haha my mom would love that! So, I shortened my first name to Andi and my last name of Carmona to Carr and there you have it!

I started my professional photography journey just shooting family sessions and gradually took on different clients which brought me to couples and eventually making that leap into the wedding industry. It’s been a fun filled year and I’ve met so many amazing people. I honestly love what I do! There is something so fulfilling for me when I can capture special moments for my clients. I truly feel lucky!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a photographer and I capture those special moments when you are looking into the eyes of your children and see pure joy. I capture those amazing moments when you are staring at the love of your life and can’t help but smile with twinkles in your eyes. I love raw emotion and unposed candid moments. Those are truly my favorite! I shoot many different sessions right now but I primarily focus on couples, engagements, elopements and weddings. When my clients look at their photos from me I want them to feel the exact feelings they felt at that moment. I want them to remember one of the best times in their life. I love when my clients fall in love with their photos. It makes me want to keep going and share my talent more.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I think artists have a great platform these days. We are able to showcase our work on social media and out in the public’s eye with murals and art shows, etc. I can’t say for sure if life has become easier but I know we are able to touch people’s lives more now and by doing so we can truly be inspirations. I think all cities can help promote artwork and artist more by inviting them to their places of business and introduce their clients to them and have Q&A’s with some of their artwork present. Like meet and greets! Get our work and who we are out there! This article is a great start and I truly appreciate it!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I am currently rebranding my website so right now I am on social media primarily. You can view and support my work on Instagram and Facebook @andicarrphotography. My website will be coming soon!
