Ramone Palmore from Portland to Hollywood

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ramone Palmore. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Ramone, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day, I pray and ask God to guide me on my journey and to continue to give me strength and wisdom.  I pray for my family and friends and for world peace. I read the Bible, eat and then have a morning workout.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Actor and Director Ramone Palmore from Portland Oregon. My family moved to the Northwest during the 40’s during World War 2 which landed us in a beautiful city that had a small population of African Americans.

As a storyteller, my goal is to unite others through film. Most of my films not only speak of my experience but the obstacles we face in the world today. I believe if you can entertain and educate people at the same time it’s an accomplishment to the art of film, I’m currently working on a film called RUNN that we filmed in the beautiful Columbia Gorge, 40 mins outside of Portland, Oregon

RUNN is a film based on unity and equality, my experience as an African American and what I believe will educate and entertain others at the same time.

I appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of the topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God, the creator of all. No matter what, God continues to remind me of who I am as a man, a father, and an Artist.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Focus and have Faith

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Denzel Washington … his belief in God and his dedication to family.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Faith…That having faith is the key to life. If you believe it will happen, it will happen. Your mindset can change your life.
