Good morning Melissa Ann, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
⸻
“My first 90 minutes set the tone for my day. I start by letting my dog out and making coffee, then I take a few quiet minutes for my daily devotional. Next, I move into exercise—focusing on arm weights and light movement—to energize my body. From there, I transition into preparing for the day ahead, ready to bring focus and intention to my work.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
⸻
“I’m Melissa Ann Pollack — an aesthetic registered nurse, actress, model, producer, and speaker with over 30 years in the beauty and entertainment industries. My brand celebrates the idea that age is limitless, empowering women—especially those over 50—to embrace their strength, beauty, and power at every stage of life. I’ve built my career in Southern California as one of the most sought-after aesthetic RNs, blending medical expertise with a glam, high-fashion sensibility. Beyond aesthetics, I’m passionate about mentoring, storytelling, and creating platforms that inspire confidence and resilience, particularly for women overcoming adversity. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my brand’s national reach, developing partnerships in the wellness space, and continuing to break boundaries in an industry that too often overlooks mature women. My mission is simple: to prove that beauty, ambition, and reinvention have no expiration date.”
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
“Growing up as a small-town girl from West Virginia, I once believed my dreams were too big, that I was too old, or that wanting a life in beauty and entertainment was unrealistic. Over time, I learned that those limits were only in my mind. Today, I know that ambition has no age limit and that even the boldest dreams are possible when you have the courage to pursue them.”
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
“Suffering taught me resilience in a way success never could. It showed me the strength to rebuild when everything feels broken, the humility to ask for help, and the empathy to truly understand others’ pain. Success can be beautiful, but it rarely forces you to grow in the deep, uncomfortable ways that hardship does. My challenges became the foundation for my courage, my compassion, and my ability to inspire others to rise above their own.”
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
⸻
“One of the biggest lies in the beauty and entertainment industries is that youth is the only currency of value. There’s this unspoken narrative that once you reach a certain age, your opportunities—and your beauty—start to fade. That’s simply not true. I’m living proof that women can thrive, reinvent themselves, and even reach new career heights well past the so-called ‘prime years.’ Another lie is that beauty is about perfection. In reality, beauty is about confidence, authenticity, and how you carry yourself—not chasing an unrealistic standard.”
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
⸻
“I hope people say I was a woman who lived boldly, loved deeply, and lifted others higher. That I proved beauty, ambition, and reinvention have no expiration date. That I inspired women—especially those over 50—to see themselves as powerful, relevant, and limitless. And most of all, that I used my voice and my work to help others find the courage to rise after hardship and shine in their own light.”
