Story & Lesson Highlights with Kristi Adkins of Orange County

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kristi Adkins. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Kristi, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I start my mornings balancing work responsibilities with the school drop-off routine for my children, before carving out time for a workout to reset for the day. Once the kids are at school, I dive back into work, managing business operations and staying on top of client needs until the afternoon pickup. Afternoons are a careful juggling act—fielding work calls and emails while also being present for my children, often turning playtime into moments of multitasking. As evening sets in, I shift gears to family life, planning and preparing dinner, guiding the kids through bath time, and tucking them into bed. But the day doesn’t end there—once the house quiets, I return to my desk, catching up on projects late into the night, reflecting the nonstop rhythm of a working parent balancing career ambitions with family life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kristi Adkins, and I’m passionate about building meaningful connections through hospitality and home experiences. I run StayEasy LLC, a vacation rental management company focused on making travel stress-free for guests while helping homeowners get the most out of their properties. What makes our brand unique is the personal touch—we don’t just manage listings, we create spaces that feel inviting, comfortable, and memorable. Each property is thoughtfully cared for and designed to give guests a true sense of ease, whether they’re on a family getaway, a business trip, or a long-term stay. My journey has always been about balancing family life with a drive to grow something impactful, and that balance shows in the way I approach the business: with care, adaptability, and a focus on people. Right now, I’m working on expanding our portfolio and enhancing guest experiences so that every stay is as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my mom. She’s been my biggest role model—showing me the importance of resilience, compassion, and hard work through the way she’s lived her life. Growing up, I watched how she handled challenges with strength and grace, and that has shaped the way I approach both family and business. Her example taught me to believe in myself, to stay grounded in my values, and to keep pushing forward even when things get tough. So much of who I am today—both personally and professionally—comes from the lessons she’s instilled in me.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in my life is the fear of letting people down. I’ve always carried a deep sense of responsibility to show up for others—whether it’s family, friends, or in my professional life—and sometimes that pressure has made me second-guess myself or hesitate to take risks. Over time, I’ve learned that while it’s natural to want to meet expectations, growth often comes from embracing imperfection and understanding that you can’t please everyone all the time. Shifting that perspective has helped me move forward with more confidence and focus on doing my best rather than being paralyzed by the possibility of falling short.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is integrity. To me, integrity means being honest, dependable, and consistent in how I show up—whether that’s with my family, my team, or the guests and clients I work with. I believe trust is the foundation of any relationship, and protecting that trust is non-negotiable. It’s about doing the right thing even when no one is watching, following through on commitments, and treating people with respect. No matter how busy life gets or how challenging situations can be, holding onto integrity keeps me grounded and aligned with my values.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the personal touch I bring to everything I do. It’s not just about managing properties or creating smooth processes—it’s about genuinely caring for people and making them feel supported, whether they’re guests looking for a seamless stay or homeowners trusting me with their investment. I put a lot of energy into the details, the communication, and the little extras that make people feel valued. That commitment to relationships and to going above and beyond is something I believe my customers would notice most if I weren’t there.
