We’re looking forward to introducing you to KaceyTheSongbird. Check out our conversation below.
KaceyTheSongbird, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Even when life feels chaotic, messy, or completely overwhelming, I’m endlessly thankful that I can always hear the call of my music. When I’m writing, rehearsing, or performing, I completely lose track of time—hours can pass without me noticing because I’m so immersed in shaping my sound, exploring ideas, and letting the music guide me. There are days when my musical journey doesn’t look exactly the way I imagined or hoped it would, and it’s easy to feel stuck or impatient. But even in those moments, music reminds me that nothing is fixed—that I have the power to shape it, to mold it, to keep guiding it in the direction I want it to go. A new gig feels like a breath of fresh air, a moment where time seems to stop, and I can imagine all the ways I’ll bring my vision to life. I’ve had moments where I wondered if I should walk away, but every time life feels heavy or uncertain, my voice becomes my light, guiding me back to myself. Singing, writing, performing—these aren’t just outlets, they are lifelines. They remind me of who I am, why I started, and the legacy I hope to leave. No matter the obstacles, distractions, or doubts, music is always there, patiently calling me forward, inspiring me to keep evolving, keep creating, and keep believing in the legacy I’m building through my art.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is KaceyTheSongbird™, a name I proudly trademarked through the USPTO in 2024. I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer who has been gracing stages and sharing my voice since around 2014. My artistry is rooted in the pure love of singing—it’s not just something I do, it’s who I am. As an independent artist, I’m constantly learning what it takes to turn passion into livelihood, to carve out a sustainable path doing what feels most natural to me: creating and performing music. There’s nothing like the rush of a live performance or the magic of stepping into the studio, getting comfortable, and experimenting with new sounds, beats, and ideas. I love discovering how far my voice can go and how deeply it can connect with others.
What makes my journey unique is that I’m still scratching the surface, yet I already feel the depth of what’s possible. The industry is shifting in ways that give independent artists more space, more power, and more opportunity than ever before. I see this as the perfect time to build not just for myself but for the legacy I want to leave behind. My brand is about authenticity, resilience, and joy—it’s about finding freedom in music and letting my voice be the bridge that connects stories, emotions, and people. I’m working on expanding my catalog, exploring collaborations, and continuing to share my voice in ways that are bold, meaningful, and unforgettable
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was always a natural-born leader—even if I didn’t always realize it at the time. All through school, and later while working for others, I often found myself following the rules and doing what was expected, yet somehow I still stood out. Even on the days when I didn’t want the attention or wasn’t trying to be noticed, I carried something that made me shine.
Now, as I dive deeper into financial literacy, business, music, and the music business, I feel like I’m only just scratching the surface of my true potential. Life has taken me through paths and responsibilities I didn’t always want, but those experiences have sharpened me and brought me here—to a place where I’m building for myself. It’s a journey of reclaiming that natural leadership, of honoring my individuality, and of shaping a future where I get to define who I am and how my voice is heard.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: believe in yourself and trust your vision. You already carry everything you need inside of you, so don’t let doubt or outside noise dim your light. I would remind her that I am always with her—standing in front of her to guide, and behind her to protect. All of the influences around you will test you, shape you, and sometimes even try to confuse you, but your intuition will never lead you astray. Keep trusting yourself, keep trying new things, and don’t be afraid of being uncomfortable, because that’s where growth lives. Every risk you take is shaping the legacy you’re meant to leave behind.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to—no matter how long it takes—is exploring every facet of the music business while staying rooted in creating music that can stand the test of time. To me, real success isn’t about chasing trends or just earning a paycheck. Success is building a life where music isn’t just what I do, it’s how I live—from crafting lyrics and melodies to experimenting with sounds and shaping an original, authentic voice. I want to contribute to music that people can return to again and again, music that becomes a part of their memories and moments. My commitment is to stay on this journey, to keep learning, and to keep creating until my work reflects the kind of timeless art that will outlive me.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
I feel like I’ve already lived through this question. When my Instagram was hacked on November 13, 2021, I lost not only my account but years of shows, flyers, important messages, and memories. My numbers were solid, and starting over felt like a mountain I didn’t ask to climb. On top of that, I didn’t have an iPhone at the time, so I couldn’t even save much of the old footage that meant so much to me.
That moment was devastating, but it also forced me to step back and realize what can never be taken away: my voice, my vision, and my ability to rebuild. The pandemic, the hack, the setbacks—they stripped me down, but they also revealed what really remains when everything else is gone. Every time I rebuild, I gain more character, more grit, and more purpose.
And in today’s world, where the digital space feels so real to people, numbers often get judged before talent is even recognized. Meeting someone in person who sees my current following might think, ‘No way, no how,’ without realizing what was lost and how much I’ve had to rebuild. That’s why I’ve been reconstructing my image brick by brick, piece by piece, knowing that the numbers will catch up, but my artistry and authenticity will always speak first. For me, every setback is a setup for a stronger comeback.
