Hi Jamir , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of quietly building The JS Journal, a vision that started as a spark and grew into a full cultural platform. Behind the scenes, it’s been a labor of love—curating stories, voices, and visuals that reflect art, fashion, and impact. It’s the foundation of something far bigger than what’s currently seen.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jamir Smith, a media personality, creative entrepreneur, and the host of The JamirSmithShow, a platform where culture, fashion, art, and entrepreneurship intersect through smart, engaging conversations. Heard on Power 97.5 LA, iHeartRadio, and across major streaming platforms, my brand is dedicated to amplifying authentic voices and curating meaningful stories that move communities forward. Beyond broadcasting, I’m building The JS Journal—a cultural publication and creative ecosystem that celebrates artistry and impact in fresh, innovative ways.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that constantly seeks perfection has served its purpose and must now be released. It pushed me to build with excellence, but it also kept me from fully embracing the beauty of the journey. I’m choosing to release that weight and make room for growth, flow, and authenticity.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the timing of your journey—everything you dream of is unfolding exactly as it should. Your voice, vision, and uniqueness are your greatest strengths, never dim them to fit in. Keep going with grace and confidence; the world will catch up.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
I differentiate by observing longevity, impact, and alignment with deeper cultural or behavioral changes. Fads create quick buzz, but foundational shifts reshape how we think, create, and connect over time. I look for consistent evolution, not just momentary hype.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m creating with purpose—whether that’s crafting a story, curating a moment, or building something meaningful. There’s a calm clarity that comes when passion and vision align.
