Story & Lesson Highlights with Gabriel Beeler

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Gabriel Beeler. Check out our conversation below.

Gabriel, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I have been reading historical fiction novels about being lost on an island in several different time periods. Historical fiction set on islands offers a rich blend of adventure, survival, and cultural insight across various eras.

Being a Librarian, I love reading historical fiction because it can take you to new places, increase your knowledge, and ignite your creativity. Reading is a wonderful source of happiness. Through compelling storytelling, they can transport you to many cultures, ages, and locations. It’s like to having a passport and a personal time machine together. Reading has many benefits, including the ability to mentally escape into new worlds, develop profound empathy, lower stress levels, increase vocabulary and knowledge, inhabit other people’s lives, connect with a variety of characters, test your intelligence, and find relaxation and personal development through information and stories.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, Everyone. I’m Gabriel, your friendly neighborhood photo booth guy. Over the last decade and a half, I’ve grown Lucky Frog into a well-known event brand in Southern California.

Lucky Frog Photo Marketing is a unique photo entertainment business based in Southern California that stands apart from your ordinary photo booth rental. Lucky Frog specializes in interactive brand activations and high-tech event experiences, combining traditional photography with innovative digital event entertainment. Lucky Frog services major markets like as Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, providing one-of-a-kind solutions that increase brand engagement through technology-driven photo experiences.

What truly differentiates Lucky Frog is its emphasis on artificial intelligence. They don’t just use basic AI preset filters; they’re now developing a next-generation AI photography studio employing cutting-edge AI technology.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I learned about hard work on my own. Hard work is the key to every success story. It teaches us to be disciplined, focused, and persistent, especially when faced with adversities.

I grew up poor and encountered many life lessons early on, that made me stronger than most people. Growing up with little money, creativity became a survival skill. I started my first business at the age of 12 and learned the value of hard work early on.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Money problems and a lack of business knowledge caused me to consider giving up when I first started my business. I made multiple mistakes in my first year of business, and one event went so poorly that I wanted to quit up and abandon the idea entirely. My friend who was assisting me talked me out of quitting, and I overcame the initial challenges of beginning a business.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Many photo booth manufacturers sell their booths as an easy money side hustle, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. This lie creates a market flooded with inexperienced operators looking to get rich quick, resulting in price undercutting and a race to the bottom mentality.

Working for exposure is another lie, as it devalues your skills, does not pay bills, and creates an unsustainable cycle of free labor. It normalizes unpaid work, and the “exposure” rarely converts into meaningful financial success or proper recognition. Sometimes working for exposure can be beneficial but it should be limited and benefit both parties.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I don’t expect praise, validation or likes for my work. I approach each job with the same devotion, integrity, and enthusiasm without the need for external praise or acknowledgment. Many times my extra effort, overdelivering and providing excellent service,e goes unnoticed, but I still make it a habit. I try to always do my best, regardless of who the client is.
