Rising Stars: Meet Wesley Harden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Harden.

Hi Wesley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a wedding photographer located in California, and I specialize in Yosemite National Park and Bay area weddings and elopements. I am the owner of Wesley Harden Photography, and I help couples from around the world get married in magical places. I guide my couples through every step of the wedding and elopement process to help bring their dream wedding to life! While I wish I could say YES to every couple that comes my way, I cannot personally work with everyone. There is still great news though. If I am not available to personally be your photographer, I have a great team of wedding professionals who help photograph engagements, proposals, and elopements all over California. We are located in California but travel all over the country to capture our couple’s special day. We travel anywhere and EVERYWHERE love is. Are you getting married on a beach in Hawaii? Are you eloping on a mountain top in the Rockies or visiting Banff? We would LOVE to be there. Send us an inquiry, and we will be in touch! Our job is to help bring your vision to life, and we will be there every step of the way to make the process as simple as possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles my company has faced is the increasing demand for weddings and elopements coming out of the pandemic. During the 2021 season, I photographed more than 90 events. My goal in meeting the demand of the 2022 season was to expand my company to include my associates, who have greatly helped in documenting more weddings and elopements than I, as one person, could ever do. It breaks my heart to turn away couples, and now, thanks to my incredible team of wedding professionals, I can continue to work with more couples worldwide and support them on their wedding journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in destination elopements and weddings, helping couples bring their dream event to life. Often this involves a national park or somewhere with significant meaning to my couples. Planning a wedding or elopement can involve a lot of work for those unfamiliar with the process, but that is where I step in. I support my couples every step, from finding the perfect place to say their “I do’s” to helping them with the incredible team of people and sharing their stories back in photo form. I have met people from around the world whose dream it was to get married in a unique location such as Yosemite National Park. I have not only helped them get married but done so in a way they will never forget, and thanks to their wedding photos, they won’t ever forget the beauty of their special day and their love for one another.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
For me personally, I am already experiencing a change in the industry where my business now has a fantastic team of professional photographers who help me capture my couple’s special day. My couples now trust my team and I to meet them at their chosen destination, often in a different state and soon outside the country. A future outlook of mine is supporting other creatives like myself through education. I am a licensed teacher in the state of California. The goal of my company is to build a platform where photographers can learn more about their business and support those who often get bogged down by their editing. I soon hope to develop this educational platform to help my fellow creatives and give them their freedom back.
