Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Anderson
Hi Victor, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2014 from Connecticut. I wanted to live here my entire life and I knew one day it was going to happen, I always bet on myself. My basketball career ended with me having back surgery unfortunately and I was stuck between having one more year left to play in college or make a decision for a life change.
Growing up Kobe Bryant was my idol and my hero. I was always drawn to Los Angeles because I watched every Lakers game religiously, on top of the movies and Hollywood being a major influence. Moving here was HUGE for me, I left all my family and loved ones back home but I knew I wanted more and wanted to be in a place like California where opportunities are endless.
Fitness was something I knew I wanted to pursue early on. Playing basketball and training majority of my life taught me work ethic and being on a routine. Just because I didn’t continue playing ball didn’t mean I had to stop being around the game or being in the fitness world. I always was one to help people and it gave me joy to help someone feel better or boost their confidence.
Fitness isn’t just about the physical benefits, the mental benefits are just as important if not more. It meant a lot to me to hear feedback from clients that I changed their lives or they appreciate starting their day with me because I’m a very positive person and easy going. That’s what makes this job the best. I get to coach people about their health & wellness and it means a lot to myself and them.
I work with all sorts of people from athletes to business owners to retired adults to kids who are pursuing being elite and everyday people who just want lifestyle changes. Health and wellness is an everyday thing and if you take it serious that shows you take your life serious, we only get one body in life, treat it with love.
I’m a family man now I have two beautiful children (London, Mylo) and a beautiful woman (Haley)in my life who make life special and amazing. I feel anything uplifting and good on your heart helps you in life, I’m beyond thankful for my family and being able to be a dad and watch my kids grow and evolve. They’re both little athletes themselves so watching how much they enjoy fitness and being active is a blessing. Haley and I make sure we keep them confident and make them believe they can achieve anything and do anything, it’s a true blessing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life is about the journey, and along that journey there will be ups and downs no matter what. I’ve had great moments and I’ve had horrible moment’s.
Adversity is the best teacher and I’ve always been one to keep my head up and stay positive no matter what because I know life wasn’t meant to be easy. God put us here to learn and evolve and I understand that comes with being tested.
When you move to Los Angeles and you have no family or real support system it gets tough, Like anyone when you move here you don’t know who to trust or who’s being authentic so I’ve come across every kind of person imaginable in LaLa land. I’ve struggled like any other trainer or actor/model who is building form the ground up without true guidance, and I’m thankful for that because it taught me so many life lessons.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an entrepreneur and have been doing this for a while. I’m known for a few different types of work. Fitness is a passion and one many people know me for because training is one of my best lines of work. But I also and signed across the board for acting and modeling. I’ve been signed with NTA Talent for years now with the Commerical & Print department and NTA Models, I’ve been SAG for a few years as well.
Another line of work I’m in which many people don’t know, I am a lien negotiator for a legal funding firm. It’s not a job everyone knows but it’s fun and it’s different because the other jobs I do are more physical and requires me to think in different ways, this job I am strictly thinking with my mind and need to be sharp when negotiating liens and contracts.
I’m most proud of my ability to do anything. I feel confident taking on any task or any job, I’ve always excelled anywhere I’ve been and I feel like whoever hires me for work would never been disappointed or let down.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m definitely more on the private side when it comes to my life so I’m sure people would be surprised by a lot of things. I’d say most people are surprised that I’m a PICKY eater and how chill of a person I am for sure.
