Today we’d like to introduce you to Ventage.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started in my household, my parents and big brother were my musical influences growing up beatboxing, ciphering til 3am, mom and dad used to sing us to sleep as kids, my mom was a jazz singer and father was her manager for sometime booking her shows, etc. I got into writing at the age of seven, my big bro used to share his raps with me and it inspired me to write and make up songs. Fast forward through high school, I was on the poetry slam team and got my name “Ventage” in 2011 — in 2014, I made my first album with the help of Eric Totton aka Dig Life (DREAMS INTO GOALs) who was my manager for some time — I threw fashion shows twice a year with 80+ models and I cut and sew custom attire called “Ventage Hype” — it was then when I created the five elements of Spokensoul – fashion, Music, innovators, entrepreneurs and humanitarians — the same models from the fashion shows and open mics I use to throw would come out and do street cleanups, pass out human rights pamphlets and create ways to share the knowledge with art by throwing consistent events for creatives to build with other creatives.
Fast forward to 2021 —
A fresh breath of originality, LA native Ventage is an artist soon to be recognized for her vibrant expression through a variety of artistic mediums. A mix of Jill Scott and Missy Elliot, Ventage with her multitude of skills is a singer, poet, hip hop artist, designer, songwriter, actress, event host, event curator and an advocate for human rights.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The hard part has always been balancing my passions and what might be the right time to share my new art or album etc.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Know that everything you need, you already have — if you’re positive about much, then much will be positive — if you’re down about much, then much is down (negative) to you. So always love yourself no matter what may seem like a storm stay swinging. Your fight will change someone’s life.
