Rising Stars: Meet Venetia Zipporah Nellum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Venetia Zipporah Nellum.

Venetia Zipporah, founder of “Vibez by VZ”, was born and raised in sunny Riverside, California. By age four she started training in jazz, ballet, tap, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and Hip-hop. Dance became her passion, her getaway, and her escape – She also loves theatre and was involved in many plays and projects. In 2013, she decided to pursue dance professionally and enrolled in dance and theatre at American Musical Dramatic Academy (AMDA), a private college based in Los Angeles, CA. While at AMDA, she trained with some of the best professionals in the entertainment industry and grew a passion for heels, jazz-funk, Latin jazz, and tumbling. Though Venetia graduated with a BFA in dance, she minored in acting – her second love. Since graduating, Venetia instructs classes, choreographs for artists, and has worked with industry names such as YG, BlueFace, Milano Di Rouge, Chris Brown, G-eazy, and Many More.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was definitely not smooth. I struggled with finding myself as an artist, had a lot of distractions that were mentally, physically, and emotionally draining. It definitely took a toll on me. I lost myself and was putting others first. It took me a while to realize that “I” come first and that’s not selfish. I had the wrong type of energies around me and needed to be around more positive, uplifting individuals such as myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a professional versatile dancer, best known for my technique and athleticism in my craft. I recently have branded myself and am the founder of “VibeZ by VZ”. VibeZ by VZ is all about feeling good vibes, self-love and providing a safe environment for all shapes, sizes, shades and genders. My classes are more advanced and always a push; we all have room to grow.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love being in the BIG city, at the same time there are a few things that I could do without. With me being in LA, I’ve had a few people tell me that “you’ve changed” or “your so La” when in reality, I just grew up and was more career-driven. Things I love about my city is that even though it is a bit competitive, that’s the reason that I am in the position that I’m in today. The competition made me more “hungry” and want to go harder and fulfill my dreams.

Pricing:
