Today we’d like to introduce you to Usim Mango.
Hi Usim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Queens, NY but was raised in Long Island, NY. I started a YouTube channel where I would sit down and tell stories about my funny experiences in school. I would also do skits with my mom and family members. I always was making videos on YouTube as a kid, so I had a feel for the camera and overall, just had fun with it. I always had social media, but I started taking it seriously when I realized the impact I had on people. My family moved to Charlotte, NC when I was in middle school. I was on TikTok in 2019 and started dancing for fun and linked with some other creators for the first time and things skyrocketed after that point. I had the #1 TikTok trend which was ‘Alors Danse’ which has reached 150M+ views. I now focus on growing all of my platforms and looking to start modeling and acting.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
After the trend I started, I saw my followers on all platforms shooting up. I started to gain a lot of attention and attraction from brands, record labels, artists, management companies, etc. I did the trend for fun, and it happened to blow up out of nowhere which I am truly thankful for.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a social media influencer that blew up on TikTok. I am growing all my other channels which are @UsimMango. I want to become a successful actor/model.
What were you like growing up?
I was always in front of the camera which kind of explains why I am so good at it now. I enjoyed creating content, and my passion has always been there. I enjoyed playing sports like basketball, football, and track which I still enjoy doing today. My peers have always said I’m funny which is also why you see my content is about making people laugh!
