Rising Stars: Meet Timonthy Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timonthy Morris.

Timonthy Morris

Hi Timonthy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a former foster youth that wanted to act, and now am on a journey to become an upcoming star in the acting industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a rough road to be in because of the trauma I had. Going to court over and over to see who would have custody over me was tuff. Dealing with that as a 10-year-old and seeing no process or change made me feel alone. But I found the right crowd of people to get me back on my feet. Acting has also allowed me to express myself and tell stories.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Right now, I’m an actor. I started with a community theater at a young age and then transition to acting in front of the camera. With that transition, I’ve been able to work and be in music videos, podcasts, TV shows, commercials, and movies. I’m usually known for being in the show called What It’s Like by Awesomeness TV, a celebrity true crime story, Perry, Mason, and currently, a Hyundai commercial. One of my specialties is the ability to improvise and to really take direction very well. Something I’m proud of you, Heckter. I’m able to take a negative everything that I had and convert it into good energy… I’m able to use that and become a light to a lot of people on and off set. I think the thing to set me apart from others is my drive. No matter the circumstance, no matter how many times I fail, I’m still gonna be a workaholic

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
With the strike being over, I think the industry in the next 5 to 10 years is just gonna have a lot of opportunities for a lot of people, so if you were ever thinking about joining the IT industry, I think right now would be a good time just because there’s a lot of open slots for people.
