Rising Stars: Meet Theadina Von Seyfried

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theadina Von Seyfried.

Hi Theadina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Art has always been a part of my life. I love self-expression and the process of creating. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated by all forms of art. When I paint or draw, time does not exist. There’s something very therapeutic and cathartic about painting, modeling and acting. Life to me is art itself and I want to live mine as beautifully as I can. I believe that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and that there’s a huge difference between expecting happiness to come to you because you deserve it and going out and getting the happiness you believe you deserve. My journey started when I was a little girl. My mom and dad instilled in me from a very early age the importance of art, film and music. I started painting when I was five and took ballet lessons soon after. My parents are particularly fond of Old Hollywood movies so I watched a lot of classic films growing up and that definitely has shaped me into who I am today. From art, I got into modeling and then from modeling, I fell into acting.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My father passing away in June of 2020 has definitely been a struggle for me especially since we were very close and I’ve never lost anyone in my life up until that point. Although losing my father made me sad, it has also inspired me to live life more fully by cherishing every moment and being authentic to who you are. My dad did not live an ordinary life. A movie producer, real estate mogul, humanitarian- and then in 1981 even managed to run for Mayor of Los Angeles- you can see why I look up to my dad. I am inspired by him to seek out ways in which I can carry on a part of his legacy. I have a new view of myself and of life. It broke my heart to lose my father, but it also strengthened me in ways I never even knew possible.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Although I enjoy modeling and acting, my main focus will always be helping others. After the passing of my father, I felt a great need to give back. My dad saw over 55 countries and it inspires me to see the world as he did. I’d like to follow in his footsteps and travel. My dad worked in film but he also pursued politics and donated to charities. I’d like to pursue philanthropy and humanitarian work. I want to give back to the world.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born in Los Angeles, California to a German father and Filipino mother. I spent a lot of my childhood living on the beautiful island of Eastern Samar, town of Balangkayan. My first language was actually Waray, not English! A lot of people don’t know this about me! My dad lived in the Hollywood Hills and my mom in North Hollywood. I grew up on an eclectic mix of Old Hollywood, horror, independent and international films.
