Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Renee.
Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The late great Nipsey Hussle once said, “Evidence of a Divine Presence” I use that quote to define my life’s journey. My name is Taylor Renee, but everyone calls me Tay and I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I went to many different schools and ended up being ASB president my senior year in high school. I knew from a young age that I was a natural born leader and wanted to start a business of my own. Hustling has always been in me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If I told you it’s been easy, I’d be lying. Discovering who I am & my purpose in this world has been a rollercoaster. I’m thankful for every curveball life has thrown my way because it’s made me into the woman that I am today. I am still growing and learning each day. Within the last few years, I’ve taken some time to work through my childhood traumas and doing so it’s allowed me to understand my purpose on a deeper level. I have realized that I am here to serve & help those around me in all aspects!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the creator & founder of “RegionGirlzLA” alongside my partner, Keba. Our purpose is to bring love & light into the city that we grew up in. Hosting pop-up shops, networking events, Food and toy giveaways in the inner city that I felt like was forgotten. Growing up in a family that always fed & clothed the less fortunate, it’s in me to give. One accomplishment that I am truly proud of is the Back to School giveaway that I hosted in August 2021. Being able to give away 75 backpack filled with a generous amount of school supplies to children in my community was extremely fulfilling.
I am keen on expressing yourself and tapping into your creative side, and that’s what pushed me to create & design an adult coloring book in midst of the pandemic. From that, I also began to offer custom coloring books for people to have for every occasion. I believe that creativity and expressing yourself has no age limit and some people tend to forget that. Children’s coloring/activity book coming 11|11!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Giving back & building relationships with people in my community. When I was younger, my family used to give back to the homeless on a regular basis. I took it upon myself to continue that tradition. It is important to remind those who are less fortunate that they and are human and remind them they still matter. I would have never been able to accomplish all of this without my family and friends. My loved ones truly keep me grounded through my journey.
