Today we’d like to introduce you to Talesha Byrd.
Talesha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m an international model, actress and singer. I was a cast member of MTV’s 8th and Ocean and Germany girl group Heaven Sent. Walked to the runway to a top designer in New York Fashion Week and a number of commercials and prints. I created my business AWE (www.awe.style) in 2021. After many years of being a mannequin for fashion, I made the choice to take my passion to the business side. I Created AWE to show the world fashion and beauty from my perspective. Now I can be my own walking billboard.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it’s not a smooth road at all. The major hurtle is marketing. Getting your brand in front of people. Fashion is so over-saturated.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting any company is a risk. You’re showing people your idea. So yes, starting AWE was a major risk.
