Rising Stars: Meet Suzanne Bank of Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Bank.

Hi Suzanne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It’s been an organic journey! It started when I was about ten years old. My mom decorated everything in beige, and I’d look around and say, “Okay… but where’s the color?” The funny twist is that I use plenty of neutrals now too — I balance them with energy, personality, and life. That early curiosity definitely planted the seed.

I began my career simply loving interior design and wanting to create spaces that were both beautiful and meaningful. That desire to understand the deeper layers of a room eventually led me to Feng Shui. Studying under Master Lin Yun — master of the Black Hat Sect — completely expanded my perspective. Suddenly, design wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about intention, flow, and the way environments shape how we think, feel, and live. Refining those techniques over the years felt like a natural evolution.

The major turning point came when I attended a conference in Peru where Eastern healers and Western doctors came together. During one of the sessions, I had a profound energy awakening — I literally felt energy flowing out of my hand. It was unmistakable, alive, and completely real. That moment changed everything. It was as if a door opened inside me, and I knew energy healing wasn’t just something I was curious about — it was something I was meant to integrate into my work.

Today, my practice blends interior design, Feng Shui, and energy work. My goal is always to create spaces that are beautiful, harmonious, and deeply supportive. I want clients to walk into their homes or offices and feel grounded, uplifted, and truly reflected in their environment.

My approach is very personal. I take time to get to know my clients — their hopes, their quirks, their dreams — and I create spaces that mirror who they really are. Everything I do is compassionate, confidential, and judgment-free. A home should feel like a sanctuary, not a stage set. When a space aligns with the person living in it, transformation becomes possible.

Giving back has always been important to me as well. I’ve served on boards, supported charitable organizations, and used my skills to contribute to the community whenever I can. Creating positivity through my work means a great deal to me. My story is a blend of creativity, curiosity, intuition, and service — a path filled with color, energy, and a few neutrals for good measure. And honestly, I’m grateful for every step of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I began designing, the field was very male-driven, so being a woman naturally came with its own set of challenges. I was one of the very few women to be recognized and published in major professional publications, and achieving that took tremendous determination. At the same time, I was balancing life as a single mother with two young children while running a growing business — so there was a lot to juggle, but I was committed to making it all work.

As my career evolved, the challenges shifted. One ongoing challenge in this field is interpreting what clients really want. Most clients can tell you what they don’t like, but they’re not always sure what they do like. That’s where truly getting to know them becomes essential — their personality, their lifestyle, their tastes, even their quirks. That discovery process is a big part of the work.

Working with couples adds another layer. Early on, many husbands didn’t want to be involved at all. Over the years, I’ve seen more men wanting to participate and share their preferences, which is wonderful — but it also means balancing two distinct visions and finding a cohesive direction. Sometimes I joke that I’m part designer, part psychologist, because helping couples navigate those differing opinions is definitely a skill in itself.

Every challenge, though, has made me better at what I do and deepened my appreciation for the human side of design.
