Today we’d like to introduce you to Stas Tsoy
Hi Stas, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! My name is Stas. I started my dance career at age 17 with Hip-Hop dance. At age 19 I went to Russian College of Arts where I was learning Russian ballet, Russian traditional dance and Modern Jazz. During my studies at college I was taking dance intensives with over 20 different dance styles they helped me to expend my horizons and create my unique style. I started my choreographer career with Hip-Hop and Jazz-Funk styles, but gradually moved to contemporary because I found a freedom and was able to find more ways to express myself. I start teaching at 19 and felt in love with creating process during my classes. In Russia I created a dance company called “Shake It Out” we won many festivals and projects as:
“Russian Dance Sensation”, “FAM YOUR CHOREO”, “INSIDE Dance Festival”, “Generation I”, “STAGE IV”, “MOVING STAR” etc.
I was teaching workshops in Italy, India, Sri Lanka, and many different cities in Russian. I judged many dance festivals as well. I choreographed the international dance show “Heart of Storm, worked as a performer, model and actor in many projects as: “4 Sides of Love” and “An Attempt to Escape,” the circus show, “Amphibian Man,” and TV commercials for LG, IQOS, MAC, VISA. I also worked as a performer and actor for TV and music videos, including “Measure of Love”—a music video by Crimson Edge, The Ellen Show (guest performer), “Rebels”—a music video by Call Me Karizma, movie “Bolshoi” 2017 by Valeriy Todorovskiy, “Feel The Difference” music video, etc. I moved here 6 years ago and took a break from teaching and dancing for two years because I felt burn out and empty. Which is okay. Sometimes you need time to think and understand better yourself. Recharge your battery. After 2 years of break I started take dance classes and teaching again but after a year of my return I dislocated my knee during gymnastic class and I was needed to have a surgery ACL reconstruction and two meniscus repair. I believe many athletes and dancers facing this injury. It took me over 1,5 years to start be more confident in jumps and start dancing again. ‘It’s not how we fall. It’s how we get back up again.’ Patrick Ness.
Before my injury I signed with two agencies Go 2 Talent Agency and Prestigious Models agency. During my recovery I started my career as an actor and model and booked couple projects and commercials.
Recently I presented my dance piece “Addiction” in “Dance 4 Life” dance festival performed by two beautiful dancers: Bianca Scaglione and Katherine Lingle. Right now I’m working on music video with my close friend Renee Kester. So stay tuned.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
