Today we’d like to introduce you to Siddhesh Pandey.
Hi Siddhesh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a 20 year old filmmaking student from India in the New York Film Academy. My passion for filmmaking begun with photography around high school. I started clicking photos from my phone of random things that caught my sight and started practicing on my sister’s DSLR camera which introduced me to the wider aspects of visual art. having a family background in films, I have been surrounded with music and cinema my whole life which got together my love for photos and videos mixed with films. I have been fortunate to work on quite a few sets and worked on two of my own independent projects which have been a transforming experience. One being an episodic documentary and another short film project.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth road yet definitely. I have been blessed to go to a great filmmaking school, I am having amazing experiences around Los Angeles be it seeing new places, knowing and hearing people and getting to learn through a bachelor undergrad living, it’s been immense learning lessons everyday making me as a person grow and be educated and self-dependent.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a filmmaker and a photographer. As a filmmaker, I love to make social, psychological and family-oriented movies but there is still a lot to explore and learn in life and I am all set for that. As in Photography, I have recently started exploring a lot into different kinds of photography but I have been in street, Behind the scene and fashion photography, etc. I have been in love with photography since a long time and photos and art has been a great inspiration for my own filmmaking journey. If I am proud of something in life, it’s the way I learnt photography step by step by my own self from clicking photos on my phone of anything which caught my eye, with this habit of mine my prospects outspread into filmmaking and being a fan of art. I believe every living being has a different prospect to how they go through and see things. My style is a mixture of all things I have loved and cherish into situations I deal and see people doing which brings a spark of idea in my mind. I have been always a vintage enthusiast and I always love to mix it around with the current style of photos and filmmaking.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
If I know something about being successful one day, the only way I think I see is by something my parents taught me to follow, it’s to having a balance in all paths of life, be it my career, personal life, health, and relationships with everyone around. With life putting me into different situations, it’s taught me to be focused on whatever I choose to take up and give my best to it. But also success to me has a lot of different sides to it and being known in and around for my work is not the only thing i dream for. I wish to successfully live a righteous life, create meaningful projects and gradually adapt myself in this dynamic world with everyone.
