Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Hemphill.
Hi Sean, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hey, I am a professional boxer. I’ve started competing as an amateur at the age of 15. My father was a fighter as well. He’s the one that got me into the sport.
I notice I can be really good at an early age. I was able to rack up national titles as an amateur. I was even on the U.S. team 2 years in a roll.
I decided to turn professional in 2019 in aspiration to become a world champion one day soon in the near future. I am currently 16-1 with 10 knockouts as a professional.
I am dedicated and passionate about my goals, and I will accomplish what I set out to do. And that’s to be the best in the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy on my journey! I lost my mother in 2020, which was devastating. It hurt me to the core! I had to find motivation within myself to keep going.
Another thing is I always have to travel to get better. There’s not a lot of boxing where I am from. So, my resources are limited. I do what I can with what I have!
I have to rely on my discipline and ambition to continue my journey!
I suffered my first loss as a professional in 2023. Which was tough to get over, but I haven’t given up on myself. Since then, I’ve been a to get 2 wins by knockout. And I plan on fight again soon.
