Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Jane.
Hi Rhonda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The last time I spoke with you guys in January of 2020, months before the pandemic onset and subsequent global shutdown that followed, I was running my online store, ShopRhondaJane.com, which I have since rebranded as Stop By & Say High! I was also managing a Cannamom blog, Dope Mom Collective, and an entertainment blog, FlagrantCity.com, all the while managing my own freelance public relations firm, BuffaLowe PR.
Since then, so much has changed in life, and in business, in a good way!
I attended beauty school for Nail Technology at one of the most competitive cosmetology schools in California, Neihule Academy of Beauty in Downtown Los Angeles and passed my State Board Licensing Exam this September.
I opened up a small nail bar with a sleek vanity for hair & makeup and a chic mini photography studio in the Fashion District to pamper clients and take professional photos! The space is called the Highest Goddess Beauty Boudoir & Cannabae Digital Photography Studios. Here I specialize in digital graphic design, film photography, Fujifilm Instax, iPhone and digital aura photography.
The Somebody’s Dope Podcast is now called Highest Goddess Vibes Podcast where I talk about cannabis, business, beauty & wellness. Typically the show is recorded on Tuesdays and then released on Fridays! Check it out!
CannaBae Digital Solutions is an extension and slight revamp of BuffaLowe PR, where cannabis and Information Technology meets. I love bringing my cannabis experience to other business industries for a higher quality of insight and analysis. Now I provide digital marketing services and strategies to individuals, businesses and corporations!
Herbe Noire Media is my pride and joy because I get to highlight and showcase other Black Women in the Cannabis industry by way of daily news updates!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road of entrepreneurship is not smooth but it’s so worth it. The biggest struggles were realizing that this was harder than I originally thought and that to be successful, the main factor is to never give up or quit. Just keep going and see your dream out to fruition.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a self-proclaimed Jane of all Trades. I specialize in digital media marketing and graphic arts. Social media content management, copywriting, editing, blogging, graphic design, photography and more.
What sets me apart is knowing my target audience, my transparency as a cannabis user and business owner, my personable approach and my attention to detail.
You feel my vibe in everything that I do. From a logo creation to a social media layout to a product description copy.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
After things moved back to remote work during the last almost two years, I see the digital marketing space in general and for cannabis expanding. I plan to do my part to stay ahead of the curve by constantly learning, enrolling in certification courses for technical roles and by staying in the know in the green fields too.
