Today, we’d like to introduce you to Nishy Acsell.
Hi Nishy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in a war zone, moved to LA as a child and learned English watching south park.
I toiled in corporate America for several years, and after performing for a work event, I found my calling on the stage. Now, I perform roasts for corporate executives and stand up at all the major clubs and tours all over the US. I’m a mom without the mom’s brain.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Juggling the currency of keeping my energy up and doing shows!
I’ve done it all: water breaking on stage, putting on a baby carrier to work out material at a mic, and dealing with the oh-so-controversial being a family-oriented comedian. A lot of people wouldn’t even give me a chance because comedy is tribal and clique-y.
So I decided to do my own thing, and now doors are opening.
What does success mean to you?
When you can take care of your family and do what you love to do.
