Today we’d like to introduce you to Nalia Mellow
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m from Barbados!! I grew up surfing and was actually scouted for my first Model job with ROXY 2 years ago back home…Booking that job made a huge impact on my life it got me signed in Miami and now this little island girl is in LA!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth, i think people assume modeling is easy but once signing with an agency you never know when you’ll book a job, rejection sucks and it’s very hard on your mental at times. i signed in maimi and my first agency wasn’t the best but they booked me my first job in miami and i appreciate them for believing in me
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I model full time, i wouldn’t say i’m known for anything im particular but i’m most proud of where i am today….making a big move from living with my family my entire life at 19 to living on my own in a completely different country is definitely my biggest accomplishment
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for any models or people who want to start off as a model is to just do it, take those digitals and send them to that agency you want!! and if you are now starting off as a model, remember that your agent works FOR YOU
