Today we’d like to introduce you to Miyoki Jones
Hi Miyoki, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Miyoki. I’m an artist / entrepreneur from the Bay Area. I also claim NYC because I lived there for a while but now I’m back on the west coast. I’m a singer, a rising star following the yellow brick road laid out before me. I’m currently working on an R&B / Jazz album and also designing for my brand, Jones Standard.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Obstacles may delay the process but it can’t prevent it. I look back at some photos, or accolades and I’m like, “ wow that I looked so bomb or wow I can’t believe I did that…” yet the other thought process is, “ damn nobody knew I was dealing with XYZ at that time”. I say that to say, sometimes your obstacles force you to stand in your power!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am so proud of my 3rd music video, “Steel Love”. The writing on the song, the melody, the harmonies, the musicality on top of the self-produced visuals… I did that! Like I HAVE to do it’ again!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
You need money to go to war.
