Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Riggins.
Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ll admit 2022 started off great but became rocky leading me into losing my passion and not wanting to create, be around anyone who did or even hear about it but we’ll get to that in a few. It all started for me in 2014-15 when I wanted to create a reality show with a close friend of mine at that time. We bought cameras green screens etc but never really did anything with them. Shortly after that, I decided that I wanted to and needed to write a book about my life and all that I’ve been through in my life which I personally thought was interesting and could help someone. I’ve always written in a spiral notebook so I had material I just needed to find a direction. In 2015 I released my first book ‘Reflections of Me” which that lead me to start an independent radio show for our community which lead to other doors being opened for me in the LGBTQ independent entertainment world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been so hard, so tough, so rough to do all that I love to do trust me. Money being an issue, not really having an avenue to release has been an issue, and lack of support has been an issue just to name a small fraction of the things that make this journey rough for me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First I’m an Author, Radio Show Host, Interviewer, Producer, and Director, and most importantly I’m a visionary which takes me places mentally that I never thought that I could go. I’m known mostly for doing interviews because I’m not afraid to ask the questions people want to know from the guest. I’m honestly most proud of me creating, directing, producing, and EP’n two seasons of my very own independent reality docuseries, “All About Mike” which you can stream both seasons on ACTV.com.
How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t say luck plays a factor at all for me just being honest I’ll say work ethic, networking and most importantly treating people right play the biggest roles in personal and business life.
